Jerry OWNS the house.....you are Still a fan.....
Yea, I still live and root for this country but don’t have to like the leadership or it’s policies .

Just like I could have loved the school and players you coached but hated how you coached and led the team. Just saying…. Have a nice 4th Coach !

Actually, he demolished the old house and built a new one. The old one had the lines on the door jamb showing the growth spurts, but the new one has all the modern conveniences...and a new roof. I wish he'd close the curtains more often though.

I'm not sure which threads get more tiring.

The owner threads, or the QB threads.

Not that I think either situation is perfect. It's just that it's not going anywhere. So you're either along for the ride, or you're not.

Moaning about it 24/7 won't change either situation. So I don't get the point of spending so much time and energy on either topic.

No he isn't capable of winning Super Bowls without Jimmy Johnson building a team for him. But let's give credit when it's due.

There is no other person alive who could have somehow keep the Cowboys national media spotlight as bright as it is, especially with all of the playoff mediocrity. That does take a special gift! And no sarcasm here.

You mean to tell me that a team that hasn't won a SB in close to 30 years still remains the most important team in all professional sports? How is that even possible?

Love him or hate him, you have to give it up to Jerry Jones and his mentally challenged son Stephen!

Cowboys is also one of the most hated teams in sports. Thanks to Jerry.

There is no reason for our popularity. The fan base loves misery but we are hopeful. That's why we've been around this team for so long.

Jerry is the face of the Cowboys. As long as he is, people will hate us and think this organization is a joke.

Yes, and that's why I don't spend much time criticizing him. I can't do anything about who owns the team or how he chooses to run it.

But the Cowboys are not popular because of Jerry Jones. If the team had not been relevant in the 1960s and 1970s, if it had not already become America's Team, fans would have gone elsewhere a long time ago. Sure, the Cowboys would have won some fans during the 1990s, but they would not have had the staying power that those Tom Landry-Tex Schramm had with 20 consecutive winning seasons.

Now, give Jones credit for maximizing on the value of the team, but he didn't create the value. The Cowboys brand, established long before him, created the value.

Uhhh, true on the "building the house" part, but Jerry helped win 3...count them...3 SB wins for the Cowboys his own way, while Landry & Schramm only won 2.

Without what Landry and Tex built, Dallas would be far less relevant today, especially after the lack of success the last 25 seasons. That's kind of the point of this thread -- Dallas' ability to still demand the spotlight.

Jones deserves credit for his role in bringing us three Super Bowl titles, but he didn't make the Cowboys the Cowboys. He only capitalized on it, which is what he does best. Not knocking that, either.

The other teams' fans hated the Cowboys long before Jerry came along. The moniker "America's Team" is partly to credit for that, as are all the winning seasons. I'd bet money that the people who hate the Cowboys because of Jerry make up about 2% at most.

Jerry can go play with a duck nobody cares, and quite frankly most despise the Jones hillbilly clan with a passion unique to modern sports!!

Man,
I sure hope this isn't click bait for that one poster Jerry Troll. It's like Jerry is THE only reason for losses and he takes it to such extremes.

It's like there's not any other facet of the team that shares in any of the responsibility for team losses but Jerry and this guy comes out of the woodwork against anybody trying to defend Jerry.
Takes it to such an extreme.

Maybe he can be laughed off the board or put in time out for this constant harping for his troll like behavior on this team's beloved owner.

And then he makes it all the while worse when attempting to claim another poster as a troll when the entire message board knows any post concerning the 3 time SB winning owner invites his simple and single minded, childish and immature rants of its ALL JERRY'S fault for the team's not winning.

He is the true definition of a Jerry Troll whose opinion should be dis regarded.

And nope,
I ain't talking bout good ol' mod Hazey .

Funny that thing about pot callin' kettle black LOL :)

An exercise in sarcasm and karma.

This thread is intended to be positive thread for Jerry Jones. I'm sorry if you are annoyed that other posters are choosing to behave negatively in this thread. Unfortunately, this isn't Canada, so I don't have the ability to remove or censor these folks.

It’s a lot harder building teams now than when Jerry first took over the Cowboys in 89. Free agency and the salary cap changed everything. We’re seeing teams having to trade away great players because they can’t afford to keep them. If you’re lucky enough to put together a great team you won’t be able to keep it together for very long.

I wouldn't want to sensor them even if I disagreed with them. I'm not a big Jones fan myself, but I have learned I have no control over whether he's the owner. In fact, I have no control over that. There are enough people who will spend money with the Cowboys every year that it will never matter. So I realize what I'm up against in terms of the marketing/business guru he is.

That said, I think he truly does want to win, even if he doesn't know how.

I've known him long enough to know that no matter how much I choose to gripe, it's not changing with the Joneses. I also find anticipating his death very classless, as fans.

Then again, I've never been about censorship. In fact, quite the opposite. I've just learned, personally, not to worry about a few things in life, because I can't change them. Not that discussing things we can't change isn't important. I just find spending my time on things that are capable of changing a better use of my time.

That, and it's the offseason. So I'm Jonesing for some new content to discuss, I suppose.

Jerry won’t be getting any respect from the fan base until the Cowboys win another Super Bowl. For the last 27 years he’s been public enemy number one.
