Only 2 potentially expensive free agents to retain.
- If Pollard gets a new contract, then they cut Zeke which is more than enough to cover Pollard's contract.
- I doubt if they re-sign Schultz. They might draft a TE early in 2023.
- Vander Esch might have been the Player of the Game if they had won the playoff game vs the Niners.
- Safety Wilson might not even be a full time starter in 2022.
- CB Brown is solid, but they drafted Joseph, Wright and Bland in the past 2 drafts.

There are only about six guys on that list that I expect to be solid contributors this season. Most of those guys are easily replaceable, but for continuity reason some should be retained.

T.Pollard
A.Brown
D.Shultz
LVE
J.Washington
D.Fowler

Those are my expected solid contributors. And four of those guys, more than likely, won't be back after this year. So, keeping a couple of the easily replaceable guys, will be mandatory.

That is a list I am comfortable with, if we lost them all it would not cause a big problem.

Well...it will be refreshing to have a offseason where we don't have to worry about losing a key contributor to this team. I'm sure a few of those guys may surprise but ultimately I don't see anyone up there as a core piece.

But its good this team has a few guys playing for new contracts. Should be good for this team.

Not many of the names on there deserve to be be signed past 2023 at the present time which is a good thing. Maybe we are finally getting there with these contracts.

Not too daunting.
Thanks for the info.
We should be able to manage this group fairly easily.

This is how well the Cowboys have restructured their team and with the cap. Only guy I even care about on that list is Shultz and he will probably be signed long term soon. I would love to see them resign Pollard, but no big deal if they dont.

True, but that's not a good thing. It would be nice if DT Hill was the player he was drafted to be. Probably not going to happen. But one can hope.

It appears it will be all about 2 positional groups, backs and te’s. Backs can make an impact right away, but Te’s need development, that’s probably why they used a pick this yr rather then next

With the 32nd pick in the NFL draft, the Cowboys select Notre Dame TE Michael Mayer...

One thing is the DL are a lot of FA . We have 3 comp picks so we’re looking good.

Could certainly take another next yr, also heard it’s a very good yr for top end rb talent

What results would Schultz have to have to get a long term market value contract?

Looking at cap space in future years is misleading without considering how many players are under contract.

The Cowboys are in better shape with regards to the cap in 2023 than it appears.
I guess not signing all those high dollar free agents has an upside...
