and yet players taken ie QBS taken top 5 top 10 1st round most are project Picks, point??

why cant one take a 2nd rounder to develop or is this hate on the ownership as if other teams don't do that??

BTW if not injured he might be a lot further head and the defense changed at the same time etc etc etc
Sorry, can't discern what you're trying to say.

so easy

Hill was a 2nd rounder who had rough start for injuries and 3 new defenses with new Coordinators etc even as a project, how that a negative? there are many top 10 picks who were basically projects hes a 2nd rounder.

discern away. if you cant comprehend, thats on you.

If he gets cut, no skin off my nose. Just part of being a Cowboys fan, knowing Jerry likes to throw away 2nd round picks like they're worthless.

This is his 4th year and he's only 24, interesting. It would be great for the Cowboys if he had a good year. Just be a legit run stuffer.

I'd say the odds of him not making the roster are better than him actually playing here and making an impact. Besides a numbers crunch I doubt there will be anybody pounding the table for him when its time for a visit from the turk.
Marinelli should have taken his boy with him when he left. He is just another Marinelli project that should have never been drafted.

Why does the NFL combine testing come into play ?
... and for a 310 pound DT, (Hill) that 40 time is not a bad number at all. .
It's an evaluation tool, along with other things, but it doesn't guarantee anything or prove that he is or will be a quality pass rusher. The combine and the draft aren't that exact or certain. Proof is only in the actual doing.

Run on sentences, words thrown in for no apparent reason, no caps, inconsistent tenses. No sir, that is on you, quite clearly.

It must be that time of the off-season. These threads are always amusing.

I see a bust for the bust that he is. History proves me right

That “classic case of people’s perceptions” is yours. ‘The fan’ seeing what he hopes rather than what is.

Don’t try to lecture anybody.

well in his defense he sat down and broke down tape and provided time stamps to back up his opinion. Meanwhile you’re going off your eye test and how you “feel”. He’s definitely shown more evidence for his opinion than you have

If you think a few ‘time stamps’ from a single game has more value than the cumulative disappointing career stats the guy has over three years, that’s on you.

better than getting nuthin at all. ..plus we'd get a late rd comp pick in return should he likely leaves. ..
if some do their research, it doesn't always work and hit with early rd draft picks - even the competitive teams will miss em.

And it's even tougher trying to click and successfully find that impact 3 tech. It's too super rare to find a Chris Jones sleeper gem in the 2nd-3rd rds

big problem is by far ... we've been missing way too many 2nd rd picks of recent .. ala Jaylon, Gavin, Joseph, Williams, ...only Diggs has almost made up for that.
Lol a comp pick he'll be lucky if hes even on a team after he leaves here.

Dude is in his FOURTH year. None of those first round picks took this long to figure out what they were. If you’re still a Project after your rookie deal is up then you’re going to be out of the NFL.

Hill is an overdrafted project pick who has had injury issues. He has like one trait that is top notch, first step quickness. Rare for a big man. Question is, can he harness it? I'd given up on him myself, but I have before only to see him play well for a bit.

People seem invested in his failure for whatever reason. Just like the folks who can't bring themselves to acknowledge how good Dak is or seemed to miss the fact that Zeke played on one leg for 11 games last season. Or they want the team to cut Tyron Smith, who has played through all kinds of pain just to try and be there for his teammates. I don't get it. No matter what I think of a player if he's wearing the Star I want him to ball out.

I would offer one minor correction to your "one trait that is top notch" assessment though. I believe his upper body strength is pretty impressive as well. When he is able to get hands on a blocker he tosses them like ragdolls. His problem has been consistently applying the technique necessary to get his hands on them before they get hands on him. The other thing that I have repeatedly noticed about him is his motor. Dude never gives up on a play and is frequently in on tackles 20+ yards downfield on plays that went outside or on the opposite side of the field to him. There's a lot to like about Hill to me.. I just don't know where his head is. That display after the Thanksgiving game was disgraceful.. even though in his defense the dude did walk up on him trying to bait him.. and he unfortunately fell for it. Gotta be smarter. I pray he gets a little smarter this year and going forward.

Wrong.. he WILL be in his FOURTH year in September.. Right now he just finished his third year having missed more than a season's worth of games owing to a torn ACL.

Read through the 11 pages = 220 comments; eliminating the 30-40 that are off topic (CZers going at each other, etc.)....I guess roughly 130 to 50 against Hill \ doubting he remains on the team.
