I think the answer might be no one. But I have a feeling if Kelvin Joseph can play this year, he is going to surprise some people. The only question is going to be if he gets a chance, which may mean an injury to someone else.

The dark horse is Josh Ball.

Going outside the more obvious candidates, what if Josh Ball shows up & shows out? Could really solidify our O line & give us enviable options on our final roster.

#19, what 2nd year player makes the leap.

3 different answers from them. But all 3 can and will make the leap.
Defense
No including Parsons....

Odighi already had a terrific season for a rookie.
- He is well ahead of the others.

Joseph, if the off-field does not become a distraction.
- Allowed minus 2 yards receiving in his 1st start.

Jabril Cox is a perfect fit in the role Neal played as the coverage LB (LVE as the run downs LB).

Bohanna
Golston
Muk
Wright

Offense
Farniok
- Could push to start at OC.
Josh Ball
Fehoko

I think Osa, Joseph, Cox and Ball need to make the biggest jump. OSA was very good as a rookie but burnt out towards the end. I think a healthy Gallimore helps him a lot. Joseph has a bunch of talent. He needs to and will play more in year 2. If he matures he can be a good one. Cox is going to get a big chance. Dallas is real thin at LB so Cox is going to get plenty of playing time. Ball in my opinion has to be showing them something for them to just dump Collins. I think these 4 guys will get a chance to shine.

Osa .. is my pick ..i have to go with guys that got that significant game experience and impressed when they did,..
Great offseason program, valuable game experience, Quinn scheme should do great wonders for him. .

- Cox only got 8 reps before an ACL ended his rookie year, so experience wise he'll be a re-rookie again to a great extent.
- Joseph has his issues, and likely be facing suspension so he's outta question.
- Izzy (Israel) was inactive or special teams only, so experience not on his side.
- Bohanna was pure JAG; it would have to be massive turnaround surprise.
- i have doubts that Basham even makes the team.
- Wright barely played D", mostly special teams work- Just didn't see him enuff.
- Golston would have to a surprise too. I'm still not sure of his role and fit post weight gain
Not totally outta question
- Ball missed the season, so he's starting from scratch too. Still an unknown.

Offense - i would love to say a Simi or Vashar at WR, but that's a far stretch with zero game experience on offense.

According to many "experts," the most likely 2nd year player to make the leap to stardom in 2022 should be Osa Odighizuwa.
Of course, many other players owning various virtues will be vying for that honor as well, so, therefore....may the best man win. :flagwave:
