KJJ - will an unfortunate TC-preseason injury or two spur deals for some team(s) to get a 3rd overall pick from 4 years ago that has perhaps had his career growth + success impeded by two currently downtrodden franchises?

It’s possible because Darnold will be a free agent after this season but I doubt anyone would try and make a deal for him during TC or preseason. A trade during the season is more likely than before the season. Carolina wants a competition between Darnold and Mayfield. Sam Darnold has failed with two franchises so I’m not going to blame both for his lack of progress. The Jets are obviously a mess but Carolina wasn’t a terrible team. He got off to a great start with the Panthers last year and reverted back to what he was with the Jets. He was a mistake prone QB in college and it’s followed him into the NFL.

Watson is a colossal disaster of a disgusting human that may never play another down. Far worse than Mayfield.

Again, it doesn't add up.

Watson will definitely play another down but it may not be for another year.

Let’s see, Cleveland or the Carolinas. I know which one I’m choosing!

what a dysfunctional organization the Browns are . Paid 250 mil plus 15 mil , for Jacoby Brisset to start for them in 2022 !!! crazy organization in Cleveland
That Browns fan that puts headstones in his front yard for all of the QB busts his team has had....he's gonna have to move to house with a larger front lot.

That’s probably the same expression he had on his face when he heard the Browns traded three number ones for Deshaun Watson. His next commercial will be him sitting in an empty Cleveland Stadium flipping off the dog pound.

Watson is a bad guy no doubt. Browns are in way too deep to turn back now. He will play for them and probably at some point this year.

It all adds up. Mayfield has been up and down his entire career and has had some injury issues. His leadership has also been in question. The Browns came to the realization that he’s not the answer and made the big move for Watson. They’ve been searching for a great player at the position since Bernie Kosar. The only way to get Mayfield and his contract off their hands was to trade him for cheap. He’s so disgruntled there’s no way they could bring him back.
PLUS - the Browns F.O. - namely G.M. Andrew Berry - has no allegiance to Mayfield - assuming the postition 2 years after the QB was a 1st round pick.

Mayfield - and his wife Emily - will immediately replace Cam Newton as the spokespersons & models promoting the Belk Department Retail store brand that was founded in North Carolina during the late 19th century.

I don't necessarily think Mayfield will make a big difference for the Panthers, but the cost for them to find out was pretty minimal, so why not give it a shot?
For a 5th round conditional former 1st round pick , basically free .

Baker who just had taken the Browns 2 years removed to the playoffs was being bashed more than he should have . He was injured for much of last year while still trying to keep them in the hunt.

Looks like Browns are mismanaging again all in on Watson. Shocker lol

We had a shot to bring in some cheap Dak competition. Never let anyone rest on their laurels. Especially when those laurels aren't exactly established.
