Zeke definitely looks in very good shape. Probably the best since his rookie year, but can he stay healthy? If Zeke stays healthy and our Oline improves this year, Zeke should be able to rush for 1,100+ yards with Tony Pollard gaining another 600+. The big question of this 2022 season is will Zeke still be around next year and moving forward due to his very expensive remaining contract? Will the Cowboys offer him to take a paycut to stay, and would Zeke accept it or leave? It first comes down to if Zeke can remain healthy and productive.

Yeah I don't doubt his fitness. What concerns me is he looked explosive last season until he started slowing down. Can he stay healthy is the biggest question. And healthy doesn't always mean on the field, it means can he play at his peak level.

Zeke no longer has the quicks to get the ball 5 yds deep. Short yardage and pass protect make him useful.

A bum , washed up , too little too late . What an expensive mistake
The almighty dollar went to his head. He could care less how he plays. Remember how he took himself out in Philly because he was so called exhausted a couple years ago.

Every year we have to hear how he's ready, improved, blah blah blah. Overpaid jerk/disappointment! Can't wait till he's gone.
Don't we see and hear this every off season with Zeke?
Frankly with the money these players make, they should be in excellent condition 365 days a year.

That's odd....on this very first play "quicks" to get the 5 and a TD. Keep watching...to prove yourself wrong. Slow down at the Minny game and watch him get ankle rolled. Season changing injury

.

I get his contract is over the top but fans tend to overlook he's simply not getting the carries in MM/KM system. In his defense, it's not his fault MM doesn't prioritize the RB position. But either way, this is likely his last season in a Cowboy uniform.

I don't disagree but OL play dropped off and Zeke and pollard injury played a part as well. I'm sorry but I do not believe in trying to force the run just to go 3 and out and punt. Possession mean something and you are limited to how many possession you get within a game. I want to see Cowboys run the ball but they must show a certain amount of success. I also do not buy into the non sense that Moore does not want to run,, in 2019 his offense ranked 5th in rushing. In 2020 that number fell but also with all the injuries across the OL the offense in general was poor. This past season Cowboys ranked 9th in rushing. You can't rank that high and not run the ball, we do run the ball and do so more than the majority of teams in the league but production in the run game is a must, if all you are doing it picking on 1 or 2 years on 1st and 2nd down then you are setting yourself up for some long situation on 3rd down.

He had no other choice to get in shape when the team signed Ryan Nall.

Not really. In a restructure, they have to guarantee more money and push it into the future, increasing the dead money hit in future years. Why would you push way more money into the future for a TB?

A restructure only saves cap space now. It makes future cap hits larger and makes it tougher to cut a guy later. It would be downright idiotic for the Cowboys to restructure Elliott at this point (and it appears they realize it because they could have restructured him this year to save a lot of cap space but they chose not to and restructured other guys instead).

Makes sense, but we never know with this FO.

How many yards do you expect from him this year?

This should be his last year no matter what. The Cowboys don't use him as a dual threat like Kamara or Ekler.
He is not as talented as Chubb or Taylor.
Let Pollard lead the way, and keep drafting guys in the 3-6th round.

i wonder if Zeke is still training up with ex-NFL back Skip Hicks ..?

i'd hope once he'd recover from the PLC injury, Elliott would hook up with a Track n Field program regimen, maybe one like Michael Johnson program
..and focus not only just shedding and toning up but have a better chance at regaining his once high-hurdle agility and manueverability in addition to burst and run speed
-as he had and what teams feared the most, when he came out of OSU and his first two years in NFL ..

When i see his workout vids, seems like he's trying to work on creating new ways to dance step, dodge and be more elusive miss 'em
that's fine if he's doing that on a 2nd level, but the best way into regaining agility and initial and acceleration burst i would've though should easily be
priority front runners.
