So he made the Probowl.. Makes the highlights every week.. The talking heads talk about him every week. pro and con.. his son should get a NIL deal.. and he's underrated?
BY the ranking saying hes giving up to many yards, by fans who say hes overrated because of the yards given up ..its fan thing. Ill take him over Byron Jones type all day everyday. Sure hes risk taker vs just trying to cover.,like that thread with Awuzie ranked over him sorry but Diggs is better.. all 3 are good corners but the tie breaker goes to the playmakers. TOs are one of the big factors for winning ..

he maybe giving up a few extra yards but hes not giving up many TDs..his analytics says hes elite.. good thing hes only going into year 3 and can improve as a player.

According to PFR the only players that got defensive player of the year votes was Watt, Parsons, and Donald.
They were the only ones to get 1st place votes.

how is Diggs underrated?
ints arent only measure-he also allowed 1060 yards-worst in the NFL to go with his 11 penalties. Teams were learning to take advantage of his tendency to bite on the double move. Got to see if he improves in these areas.
underrated? no

Same for Parsons.

Are we still waiting to see how his career pans out before we call him great?

Uh, yes.

If he suffers a career-ending injury, would he be considered great?

I say "no."

Great is measured by time.

Was Timmy Smith who rushed for 204 yards in Super Bowl 22 "great"?

He had a "great" moment, but he was not a great player.

I know we're all excited about Parsons and what we saw in his first year. We're excited that we FINALLY have a franchise, game-changing player on the defensive side of the ball. But let's cool our jets and shelve the anointing oil.

He has only played one season, and if he flames out after this season or gets injured to a degree he loses his ability (like Jaylon Smith), then no one will be talking about how great a player he is just like no one mentions Timmy Smith among the great running backs.

So many fans think the yards he gave up degrades his value. But how may teams would be willing to give up a few hundred yards to acquire 11 interceptions?

I can't understand all the hate Diggs gets over his style of play. It's like fans don't understand that you have to take chances to get INTs.

To get 11, a player has to make the right gambles. And Diggs does that.

Totally underrated player.

I wouldn't say "underrated," but I do think too much is being made about him giving up the big play.

To me, giving up the big play is tolerable if you're collecting 11 interceptions along the way.

Every cornerback gets beat. EVERY ONE including the best I've ever seen in Deion Sanders.

But in this era, when defensive backs are sorely and egregiously limited by pass interference and holding rules, I expect a DB to get beat. But if one is giving me 11 interceptions, I can live with that.

Besides, exactly what game have in which Diggs is solely responsible for giving up a big play?

I don't think many fans understand the impact of interceptions, and double digit interceptions at that. Why that's like 2,000 yards rushing for a running back.

Many here do appreciate him, some under-appreciate him, and a few bag on his style of play. He also gets trolled quite a bit on social media.

My main point is that he's not in the conversation nearly as much as Parsons when talking about the Cowboys defense. But he's had almost as good of a start to his career.

I think part of this comes from Micah running a 4.3 at 245 and playing two positions. It truly is something we haven't seen much of before.

Then again, same for a player who gets 11 INTs. One could argue he had as good of a year as Parsons, even if he did only play one position.
I think a big difference is that Parsons did that his rookie year, and it took Diggs his 2nd year to blow up.

At present, no. And, if he can tighten up his mirroring ability, he could be top 5. Huge hole in his game at present, but should be fixable.

How is a player that has only two seasons and has been voted All Pro and has a Pro Bowl already underrated? Seems like he is right where he needs to be. He will be an annual All Pro if he keeps it up. Just would like to see him not give up such big chunks of yards. He'd be a complete stud if he tightens that up.

Lol, this is hilarious.

Nobody hates him. It's just silly to make him out to be Deion because he had a good year with interceptions.

It's just been so long since we've seen interceptions here, we forgot what they look like.

His coverage skills still need a lot of work.

It's not polarizing. Go to YouTube. Look at the people there analyzing him.

He gets a lot of love here. But over there, they're all ripping on him giving up yards, calling him "lucky" etc.

So yeah, there's actually life outside of CZ.

Diggs has an entire career in front of him, and its so odd to see such a young talent excel first with INTs vs coverage.
When he tightens up his coverage skills we better be ready to pay for one of the top DBs in the league.
I know its early but would love to share some of the saved cap with Diggs soon on extension.

I wonder if we should use him on offense too? Especially while Gallup is out.

The whole controversy about Diggs is PFF and their total passing yards against stat. It is a reasonable thing to point out. Lots of yards are exactly what WR are trying to get.

Thing is corners get picks and there is an easy stat to weigh attempts, yards, TD, and picks normally in QB rating. There is a QB rating against and he is far and away the best corner.

When people talk about how stats lie, this is a common way it is done. Ignore the better more compete picture and instead bias to something that looks how you'd prefer.

I don't think PFF is nefarious. I think they posted the stat, got a bajillion clicks, and followed the money.

Boom or bust got Everson Walls a senior selection in the Hall of Fame.

Good enough for me.
