I expect Zeke to disappoint again. Good start. Will slow down the second half and probably be hurt a couple games. I set the O/U at 950. I take the under.

so paid $90M for a RB who barely, barely barely crossed 1000 yards (yes by only 2 yards in a 17 game season) and averaged 4..2 yards, good for 26th th in the league among RBs and its not a one year thing...the year before didn't reach a 1000, was 11th in the league, was 37th in the league in YPC for RBs...and now we are celebrating him having lost weight and looking slimmer..... what in the heck!?
Perfect example of cherry picking stats to suit your hate agenda. Zeke was 7th total in the league despite an injury (ankle got rolled hard in Minny), a running QB who wouldn't run, a terrible run blocking line, and a OC who wants NCAA Mountain West passing stats.

And fans chatting about their star player during the offseason is being mocked and ridiculed.

What is WRONG with this world? :(

1. We paid $90 million for a running back who won the rushing title 2 of the 3 years before 2020, averaged over 1,350 yards a season his first 4 seasons (including a season in which he was suspended for 6 games) and had 300 receptions on top of that his first 4 years.

The money he got was well deserved, using his last two years to complain about his contract he got before that is 20/20 hindsight, which is always right of course.

2. In 2020 who was his quarterback for most of the year? Andy Dalton. Teams had little reason to "fear" Dalton or the passing game, so they could focus on Zeke. Any running back in that situation is not going to do well.

3. Last year Zeke had a torn PCL, I guess you expected him to rush for 1,400 yards with that? He also was called on to block a lot with the average-at-best Connor Williams, an also-injured Zack Martin and missing Tyron Smith for games.

Yes, for his salary last year his stats were poor. But that's the chance you take by signing a running back early in his career. If he had continued his same production the last few years his salary would have been well worth it and folks would be saying "Whew, glad we didn't refuse to sign him early, he'd have cost us lots more than $90 million or we'd have lost him to the Eagles or Washington".

I'm sorry things didn't work out with Zeke the last couple of years, otherwise you'd have to find somebody else to complain about...

He was a beast in the NFL for a couple seasons and pretty sure he was a beast at Ohio State. Pretty much washed at this point though, cute workout videos in July don't change that.

My post was complete sarcasm.

he got the money with two full years remaining on his initial contract..

I never want to have the highest paid RB. contracts are for what you can do going forward. not reward for what you have done, which is exactly what's wrong with the cowboys. a new contract is not a promotion and raise....

and now I am hearing excuses for Zeke, yet same excuses don't apply to Dak.

no, I am not a Dak defender, but I look at all the different sides and I hear two different stories.

again, never ever pay a RB big contract. its a mistake. just draft another one....they are easier to find and effective day 1.
