Lamb dropped way too many passes in big moments last year for my liking. I don't mind him as a #2 but no legit #1 drops the passes this dude does. I hope to be proven wrong because I root for anyone with a star on their helmet, but he isn't on my list of favorites.
Chase would disagree

Are there more questions left because it seems they literally scoured these boards to see what we're all talking about to pose these questions and I want to guess what's next?

When he had to play #1 vs Chiefs, Broncos etc he choked.

I agree with those who say CeeDee already was our #1. I didn't see defenses pulling out the stops to shutdown Amari Cooper. I think the question though is CeeDee going to be one of those 1300, 10+ TD #1 receivers?

Don't know. Some key drops and still not convinced he's big enough to take the punishment. Be nice though. Haven't had a guy really seize the throne full-time since Dez. A reminder that Dez didn't tear it open until his 3rd year too.

He had 17 yards vs Chiefs when he had to be #1

Rob Phillips and Mickey think yes. Mickey said a few weeks ago, he was suspect, until he seen a highlight video of his 79 catches.
Nick Eatman sounds as if he is not sure, he needs to see it.

This was today's question, so all caught up.

Well, ready or not... they have laid all their chips in on him. We shall see. Let's just say, he better be ready. Or this thing is going south quick with Schultz becoming the leading receiver.

This one is up for the "dumbest question of the year" award.

Its like asking if Dak was ready for the NFL after his rookie year winning ROTY.

Lamb already was the #1 here in Dallas. He was the #1 last year. Even more impressive considering he had 1B sitting across the field from him taking away looks and catches.
There’s a difference between #1 numbers and being a real #1. There are 32 sets of #1 numbers (1 on each team) but not every teams beat WR is a true #1.

#1 are reserved for Moss, TO, Kupp, Irvin, etc.

IMO CD is not a true #1 yet. Coop was a #1 in 2018 when he got here.

James McKnight was the teams #1 in 99 when Irvin went down but that didn’t make him a true #1. Lau’rent Robinson was the teams #1 and got a FA deal with Jax. Didn’t mean he was a real #1

Chase has a much higher drop pct than lamb
Which was the criticism for why he can’t be a one
No. To me it’s because he hasn’t shown a consistent ability to dominate. Aside from Minn in 2020 When has he boxed out a DB for a ball or juked someone out of their shoes or flown by them? The traits we saw in OK we haven’t seen at the NFL level

I know from previous posts, videos etc that coverage would roll to cooper which would free up the Uber guys.

When coop was hurt did they do the same treatment to Lamb? Double team, bracket etc. thx

Yes!! My fellow Punjabi "the football scout" talked about why and I couldn't disagree with him at all. CeeDee is going to break out this year and be 1 of the best..

Whether or not CD is ready to be the Cowboys #1 WR or not is yet to be proven. Why would anyone's opinion minus proof be necessary? The truth will be revealed in TC and the regular season. If that's not enough, perhaps the playoffs would answer that question, as well. Premature impressions only serve to complicate what lies ahead. Patience is in order. Let's try that.

You can break it down however you want. But if Ceedee wasnt a #1 last year then Cooper never was. Cooper has been 1000 yards and 6 TD's most of his career.

No such thing as a # 1 WR under Dak friendly for reasons we are all aware of right Coop and Dez.......
The TE is our # 1 WR here....

Exactly, which is why I want to see Dallas invest in an elite TE or a pair of really good ones,,,, those are the guys that are going to get the ball. I like Schultz, he's good, but not dominant. Pair him with another good TE or get a dominant TE and Dak will be better off,,,, after they gold-plate the OL first though.

Numbers don’t tell the full story of if a guy is a true #1. That’s my point. Have you ever thought the other team couldn’t stop CD? Did CD have a trait that was indefensible?

Because most thought that about Coop his first 2 years here due to his elite route running.

And get him another Zeke to carry his ineptness to maybe 1 more playoff win in the next 6 years......
