As much as I continue to want to dial down Daks level to average to above average somewhere from middle to upper half almost all of these rankings I see from noteworthy sources place him either in top 10 or close to it.

So despite whatever criticism we may have of Dak and the fact he’s arguably not Elite he is considered in the upper echelon of the league . Top third would arguably be in the upper echelon.

If your opinion doesn’t align with these rankings then I think we can argue you might need to re-access your opinion not the rest of the league or these experts and analysts. Unless you want to align yourself with the trolls in the media simply inciting viewers for ratings.

8-13 all could be interchangeable depending on weekly outcomes. Kirk Cousins at 17 behind Jones, Hurts, and Jimmy G lolz....Dude gets no love.

If you want to play stat chasers he has stats on par with most in the 8-13 range if not better.

I would honestly take Cousions over anyone in the 8-14 range

And no brady?

Agreed.
We have an above average, but not elite QB.
I think the issue with most here is that he is being paid elite money.

Most top 10 caliber franchise QB’s are paid what we refer to as Market Price when they resign which places them in elite salary for a limited time .

Most likely his salary will be more in line with his ranking or pecking order by next year. It’s already dropped considerably since he resigned .

And we can also point to our dysfunctional ownership for mismanaging the contract situation .

Currently Dak is ranked tied for 6th with highest salary . Which only places him a couple spots above most rankings . It will move down further next year .

When this was published Brady was retired.
Might want to adjust thread title to
'Current NFL QB 2022 Rankings outside of Tom Brady'

It’s not that big of deal. The date is clearly there . I think most can figure it out that Brady would have deserves to be there.

8th ranked is higher than I might have placed him.

But I think it’s noteworthy so many of these rankings are placing him higher than many Cowboy fans are.

If we have a QB whose hovering around Top 10 caliber , he’s not a core weakness of this roster. In fact would support our QB is one of our strengths and we should be looking at true weaknesses.

That's all well and good, and I agree with what you said
What's bad is that's its a short deal.
Usually they're longer so you underpay on the backend.

Dak is probably at the bottom end of the top-10, but he played worse than that during the second half of last year beginning with the Arizona game where he was hideous.

Unfortunately there are only 4 true difference-makers at QB in the league, with Brady being #1 of course, and Dak isn’t one of them.

I dont understand why ranking at any position get feathers all ruffled in here but this QB thing puts people in a mode. Ive seen enough now to know we can with our guy. Weather you want to rank him 5 or 15 we can with him just like the previous one. But just like the previous one he cant do it alone
