Yea they traded for Cooper, but why omg why didn’t they pick Metcalf in the second round? Every time they play that Quick commercial with the bunny ears it rubs it in a little more. All you had to do was play Tecmo Bowl to know they guy was going to be a star.
Metcalf had very ordinary college stats. Just being a great physical specimen doesn't always make a great football player, and every other team let him slip to the bottom of the 2nd round too. They didn't get to choose with the benefit of hindsight.

Metcalf definitely had some flaws coming out. There were a lot of teams that had doubts about him, starting with his route running and the fact that you could time his 3-cone drill with a sun-dial.

He’s better than I thought he’d be but he’s still kind of a one trick pony… but that one trick in pretty nice.

Still, personally speaking, I didn’t want to draft him because terrible 3-cone drills don’t usually equal a good NFL WR. Now, I really liked Deebo a lot but SF nabbed him.

I don’t blame any team for passing on Metcalf. Kudos to Seattle for making it work. I’ll be interested to see if he’s the same now with Wilson gone. Russ is one of the best deep ball throwers in the league.

..and you really knew all the while, at that time, that Metcalf was gonna be THAT good ..?? ...

He was definitely a possibility with their 2nd round pick if he was there. Trading for Cooper would have had nothing to do with that. Its just not how they operate. Just like it didnt matter when we took Lamb the following year after we extended Cooper
They took Lamb because they had no choice. It was take him or a inferior player in Chaisson. Wasn’t happening.

I'm sorry. Has D.K. Metcalf taken the Seahawks to the Super Bowl?
Enough with this ruinage.
Metcalf would have been one too many receivers on a team that had a terrible defense, a leaky offensive line and a quarterback who couldn't satisfy all the mouths he had to feed anyway because of an offensive coordinator who thinks his overpaid running back can time travel to 2016.
We are not one player away. We need a super team to overcome this culture, and the superstar player we need is NOT a wide receiver.

Why didn't all the other teams, including Seattle, draft him in the first round? Why did every team pass on Tom Brady multiple times? Why did Tony Romo go undrafted?

they didnt draft dk because they did not think he would be as good as he is. Maybe they didnt notice him lol.
but many other teams were the same.

I'm still trying to cope with passing up on Randy Moss.
Moss had a bit of a problem child reputation which normally would not have deterred the Cowboys from drafting him. Unfortunately Michael Irvin's antics much of his career made the Cowboys shy away from drafting Moss. The Cowboys had their snoot full of negative publicity not only from Irvin but some other players as well. The Cowboys did not want another talented high profile wide receiving disrupter of the wrong kind. Jerry Jones still laments not drafting Randy Moss as well.

I Was screaming for Rodgers when he was slipping but when he was selected by GB , he became enemy , lol.
I dont know if Romo was even the Cowboys starting quarterback during the Rodgers draft but when the player some thought would have been the first pick in the draft falls, you have to take him. The Cowboys passed on Rodgers twice.:facepalm: The great Bill Parcells…….
