Dak is overpaid. Other QBs being overpaid does not change my opinion that Dak is overpaid.

At the time he was signed, $40 million was an absurd amount. His deal set the floor for the deals that came after his. Jerry waiting to sign Dak to a new deal clearly did not work out for the Cowboys but I understand why he waiting.

Brady with 0 protection? Is he gonna just get the ball from center and have nobody else on the line. Every an has decent protection, some are just far batter at avoiding sacks and getting rid of the ball. Burrow had crap last year... still made the sb. Enough with days excuses already.
Not making excuses. When a qb runs for his life it changes things. You have a brady and he is special. He knows and sees everything. How many of him are there playing..

With Dak barely still in the top 10 salaries now with only Wilson and Cousins at 35 million below him because they’re contracts are nearing their maturity we can finally put to rest how much Dak is being over paid.

And if Jethro had resigned Dak when he initially wanted what Wilson was making at 35 million we’d be in much better shape.

I suspect by the time Jackson, Burrows and Herbert resign their deals Dak won’t even be in top 10-12.

We need to stop calling these QB being paid Elite deals. They are Market Prices.

And we really need to stop looking at yearly average which means very little. Cap hits are what’s important.

Daks cap hit last year was 17 mil and 19 mil this year. Yes, 49 next year and 52 in 2024 but most likely will restructure or resign by then which with signing bonuses always pushes these huge contracts to back end.

4/10 have actually won an Super Bowl and 5/10 have never been to a Conference Championship game.

So why was Jerry Dumbo GM Jones holding out to not pay Dak Prescott? Hmmmmmmmmmmm!

The only gripe that I have about his contract is that the Cowboys didn't do it sooner. Don't blame Dak for getting paid that amount. Blame the inept front office.

Inept? If only the cards had done it sooner, that wouldn’t have that huge deal. If only ravens had done lamar sooner.....

You are right, he is special, as was manning, brees and the like, and that’s what you need to consistently Ben in the running and not pray you hit lightning in a bottle like the iggles did a few years ago.

Well...I’m praying for some lightning.

Me too. Our problem is in the playoffs. Everyone is on a even playing field as far as talent. We need better coaching to scheme game plans and take advantage of teams weaknesses. That streak last year looked like Moore was game planning after Dak was injured and came back we didn’t look the same consistently. I know it took Dak longer than they said to get healthy. And we had other injuries. But we quit using the same personnel we used the first 7 games. Was either the 12 or 13. Can’t figure out why we quit. Maybe the Jarwin and Elliot injuries changed us. We were short at TE after the vikings game.

Yes inept. It's not only Dak's contract, but also Zeke's and Tank's.

There inability to cave to our player's demands that don't deserve it is astounding. While they had opportunities to sign other players cheaper.

no it didn't set the floor. Watson got a deal earlier. year prior several others got 33-35M deals.

I find it funny, that now, you seem to want to blame the QB market on Dak.

this was a new one

If Dak doesn't play at an elite level in 2022, yeah, you can still knock his contract.

Again, just because teams are signing QBs to big deals doesn't somehow make all other large QB contracts now fair or smart decisions.
its the market. everyone has to pay the QBs that they think can help them make a run. once you find the elite ones you pay a big price. once you find good ones, you pay (over pay). the rest go QB hunting, some for decades

While playing against the NFCE, Dak is a $40 mil QB, against the rest of the league he's a $30 mil QB

It is not tough to knock Dak's contract. The difference is that those other teams are poised to make a deep playoff run, they have most of the other pieces in place. Dallas on the other hand, have way too many question marks and won't be making a deep playoff run anytime soon.

The Dak trolls can’t stand it.

Dak is worth it to remain relative and competitive. Much like the rest of these less than Elite QB’s signing Market Prices. Which is the bigger point.

Is the goal to remain competitive or to win a Super Bowl?

Its hard to take this point as fact when we have 20 mill in cap space sitting there and his cap hit is 19 mill this year, again if they do nothing with his contract next year and the cap stays the same....he will then be hurting the cap by double what he is this year. If they do not add FA players this year that is on the FO not Dak's contract.
