Both of them would have missed training camp and would be big question marks for week 1.

This was why Jerry and Stephen mentioned in the PC. Collins, Cooper, Gregory...Availability ... played a huge part in those decisions to move on from them. Though Gregory was more of a lucky thing he decided to sign with Denver.

I guess the Cowboys are not the only ones who like their own. Had Dallas kept Collins and Gregory then we would hear how Dallas likes their own. Gregory could have stayed but Jerry did put a clause in the deal and rightfully so, Gregory has spent much of his career suspended why on earth would you not have a clause in his deal? Collins suspended 5 games last year and with the play of Steele Collins made himself expendable

They would have continued to underachieve accrue untimely penalties and generally tick me off on a regular basis while watching the game.

Very glad both of those losers are gone.

So done with Randy Gregory and his drug habit.
Smoke yourself into retirement in Denver's altitude

Randy had never started more than 11 games in his career.
As he turns 30 this year it would be wildly presumptuous to plug him in as a 17-week starter.

I am glad he got paid because the league really mishandled his issue but I am also glad Dallas was not the team betting big money on him now finding his career best at 30.

La'el Collins signed a massive deal which he had e4arnmed through prior play but immediately missed all season and followed that with a 6-game suspension. He's a very real talent but Dallas had to escape that deal.
Had he not been available right now on his Dallas deal, the fans would be in an uproar.

Stephen is a cheapskate and basically Vecna, but young guys are better values that improve as the season wears on and miss fewer games.
It's like the old worst person you know makes a great point meme.

And we paid Gallup, who is on PUP and will miss the start of the season after missing almost half of last season. So I don't completely buy the availability argument. As you point out, we would have re-signed Gregory and his availability has been spotty.

The Joneses' decision was based more on production vs. price. Cooper wasn't providing production worthy of his price. Collins wasn't either, at least not to the extent that he was that much better than the much-lower-paid Steele. It always comes down to money no matter what reasons the Joneses want to give.

We instead are rebuilding this year now It will take awhile before the offensive line and defensive line gels.
We will have at least 2 and maybe 3 different OL out of 5.
