If Dak gets hurt, who are we supposed to rely on?

Cooper Rush?

DiNucci?

Grier?

I just don't see it. We need more depth at the back up QB position.

DiNucci has a little Romo in him, but I don't think he's ready. Other than that, I'd hate to see Dak get hurt.

I agree.

They probably don’t invest in another qb to prevent a challenge to Dak.

cooper rush has shown he can play in this league winning his only start last year against the Vikings. Why would we waste money trying to find an upgrade at that position, when the backup is already adequate?

I guess you forgot about what rush did last year

he’s not making sense. “Who are we supposed to depend on?” Ummmm maybe the guy who won when Dak was hurt last year?:laugh:

If you think Cooper Rush can get you to the playoffs and win, you're on something.

no backup qb is winning for you in the playoffs. You’re hoping your backup can keep you afloat for a couple of games until your starter gets back. If you think any backup qb out there is taking you to the playoffs and winning then you’re the one on good drugs. Cooper is about as good a backup as any in this league

Rush isn't that great, even for a backup.

We've had guys in the past who can give us at least a chance over a few games.. And I'm aware that most backups aren't expected to play and win for the entire season, etc. But we could definitely do better at the backup QB position.

Look at the Eagles, for example. I'd say Carson Strong is a much better backup than anyone we've got. And he came in UDFA.

Im going off things that actually happened, not an opinion with no facts to back it up. Fact is Cooper won his only start last year against a team that finished .500 and played quite well. You could have FAR worse than him at backup qb as evidenced when we saw dinucci in 2020. We’re as fine at backup qb as the rest of the league is

You're going off one game, which I'm also aware of. I'm just not as impressed by it as you are.

Im using data that we have actually seen, to make an analysis of Coopers skill. You’re assuming he won’t be good enough with no data to backup that assumption.

I don’t consider Cooper Rush a panic mode option . It’s the # 3 slot at PS that probably isn’t on the roster today but can be found as camps progress and cuts happen . I don’t see any Romo in DiNucci in the least . He played for James Madison and sure Tony went to a small school too but the DB’s in the NFL are licking there chops when # 7 throws it up for grabs.

I wasn't saying DiNucci was Romo, just that he had a little bit of Romo in him.

I have the same data you have, the same game, as I said before, I'm just not as impressed by it as you are.

Welp I’m not seeing anyway you can extrapolate that game into the conclusion that we’re screwed if Dak goes down. But hey it’s your opinion and I can’t change it.

I think the 9ers are in talks with the Giants right now about trading him.

I would be all in for grabbing him to back up Dak.

By the way, here's the deal on his situation right now.

Well if the Giants are in talks what would a trade look like ? A 3 in next yrs draft ? Certainly in my mind no higher . Realistically a 4 would be more equitable but SF probably would not bite for anything less then a 3 . Brian DaBoll and NY are not going to go down a 5-12 road the entire yr with Daniel Jones , Jimmy G makes sense as the sudden replacement week 4 .

Jimmy G has a salary of $25,000,000. Dallas is going to have a decent team but as for the playoffs I doubt it.
You don't spend that much money unless your close, Dallas is not close this year.
