How many DTs will we likely keep on 53 roster ?... Four or Five ?
1) Osa
2) Gallimore
3) Hill
4) Ridgeway

Will the final DT spot come down to Hill, Carlos Watkins and Ridgeway ?

And to keep in mind that Chauncey Golston is expected to be used inside as a nickel rush DT.
So does that play into the number of overall DTs do we keep ?

Note: Unless Quinton Bohanna just improves by leaps and bounds this summer, I think he could head more to the Practice Squad.

Seems like a good problem to have.

The fact that Ridgeway has been able to move anybody in his way has more to do with the fact that we have chopped liver at OC and LOG than anything else

LOL that you think that is a problem

Hill is garbage
Ridgeway is a rookie late round pick
Bohanna has shown nothing
Watkins is a journeyman

just stop with the over the top homerism already

Not homerism since it is the truth.
All the players have some potential to improve and should improve, even Hill. We will see come real game time.
I could say stop with the haterism. :muttley:
I think too many fans go the opposite direction to talk crap, just to show they they aren't labeled a homer, like it is a bad thing.

Hill is very talented, the question has always been about whether he can harness his talent and become a viable player.

Sometimes with certain players you have to ask why they are on the roster:

“Have you genuinely not been able to find 4 guys better than Trysten Hill?”

“Is Hill STILL a developmental prospect? Are they stashing him, hoping 2-3 years down the road he figures something out?”

“Does the team realize that if he makes the 53 man roster and an injury happens, he may actually have to play?”

And sometimes with certain players you have to ask has there been circumstances that has stalled their development and growth
such as an ACL injury, slow rehab or Rod Marinelli.. ?
That has happened to Hill.

As I’ve said more times over, I want to see what Hill can do with a full healthy season, under a competent DC.

Is Hill a developmental prospect... ?
We could be seeing saying the same with Neville Gallimore, who also has recently missed significant time with injury.
Like Hill he is also still a work in progress.

He needs to stay healthy, and he needs to become more mature and disciplined.
He cannot have bone head moods like the post-game Raiders fight, which caused his one game suspension.

But for as much as Gallimore will and must take the lead inside, his supporting cast must also quickly develop into the same game-altering force, if they are to take pressure (no pun intended) off of Lawrence and the outside pass rushers. In observing the first week of practice, it's impressive how Ridgeway -- essentially a road grader -- has been able to move whatever large human has been placed in front of him, and with ease, while both Odighizuwa and Bohanna both look a bit quicker than they were in 2021, and without sacrificing any physical mass or strength.

Have a lot of opportunity here at DT.
Anybody gonna step up and seize it ?

Gallimore's emergence may be one of the most important things that needs to happen for this defense to take the next step. Either him or Osa.

I like how you added Rod Marinelli as one of his roadblocks. That's a good point. He went from Marinelli to Nolan. Hopefully Quinn can coach him up and we get some production this season.

Yup. However, since he was this way coming in to the NFL, we should've known.

Marinelli was an awesome DL coach. It was picking the groceries that he was terrible at. Marinelli was not a roadblock, not even a little.

I really get tired of the useless hyperbole that constantly comes out the the mouths of players and management of this team

Don't talk. Just do it.
