We're not very deep at linebacker and I'm not sure all the roles have been won. LVE is on a one year because he was good, not great at times last year. Cox is being counted on for the Neal role, but certainly isn't proven after very limited snaps last year. Both Gifford and Harper are questionable depth.

I don't know what Barr's role might be, but I'm good with trying to improve this group.
No issue with this, we can get depleted at LB as fast as we have at WR, so grab the depth now, esp if you have jags that will get cut anyway.
As long as Barr gives this LB core some depth, while giving some youth like Cox and Clark time to find their way, there is nothing wrong with this move.
The contract numbers will be interesting.

Does a guy like Barr really need a full TC, and who is to say the Fo was the hold up maybe Barr wanted more money. Just playing devils advocate.
Yeh sorry this garbage front office cant get the benefit of the doubt

He'll probably hurt himself signing the contract. Good player, but very injury prone.

The offense looks atrocious, but if the other team doesn't score, we can't lose.

That seems to be the thinking.

Interesting the Cowboys have signed 2 LBs post draft. Wonder how the rookies are doing news has been quiet on them.

If you mean the LBs we drafted, one was a 6th round pick (Harper) and the other (Clark) was placed on the active non-football injury list when camp started. Not really sure there are high expectations for them to contribute much early in the season.

This seems like a low risk/good reward kind of signing. He did play in all 11 games last year after coming back from the torn pec and knee injury. And played decently well, career high in interceptions, 3rd highest tackle total, etc. Hope that trend continues. Still, as others have said, he is injured often. Overall I like the signing.

I don't worry about the money, it's not mine and we aren't gonna use it on anyone else. Make it rain, Jerry!
I just see the team using cap in very strange ways. You would think that at some point instead of wasting cap that the Cowboys would find a guy who can really be an impact player for them they would go and get that guy. Instead they penny pinch here and there and then pay a guy like Witten or some other washed up player who can sell jerseys. It’s really maddening.
