he'll over ride it with his original idea. He wastes time and resources.
He has plenty of time and resources lol , he doesnt care.
this may all be to make it look like he doesnt like that decision, but then he winds up losing on purpose.

how does anything they do actually protect anything. A player that will be playing again did what he did.
Ray Rice did what he did.
Mike Vick did what he did.
Oj Did whatever he did...... and the NFL train keeps heading on down the track.

Go back to the 90s when the Cowboys had players getting away with all sorts of stuff. Did it hurt their popularity any?

The Miami Hurricanes were the most thuggish team in ncaa history... didnt hurt them much in the public eye.

The public is a bunch of hypocrites. They want these guys banned for their behavior.... until the guy is on their team. You see Watson getting booed off the practice field yet? Neither have I.
Your exactly right. No franchise I’d fans want to discipline their own guys. This is exactly why the league has this policy in place because they know individual owners don’t want to police themselves.

really... do me a favor and go look on youtube and search for Joe Mixon knocks female out. Now tell me how what he did is nay different than rice and then explain why Mixon still got drafted and Rice was blackballed. Why wasnt Mixon blackballed????? Simple.... Mixon was 20 and coming out of college, Rice was 28 or so and already going downhill. Make no mistake, Rice was not blackballed for smacking he girlfriend... he was blackballed for smacking his girlfriend and being an aging RB.
That’s a good example of what I’m referring to. Rice baggage was too heavy for what he provided at that time.

the point was when the arbitrator dished out that suspension you were so against you disappeared. Today the commissioner with no power made it very clear he is going to give you the outcome you wanted and you suddenly are back! I just found that amusing.
I wouldn’t call responding disappearing. I thought my comments on that thread were appropriate for the decision at that time.

thinking that the commisioner of the 3 major sports leagues has no power is very naive. They dont pay him 30 plus million per year and not give him power....... he has tons of power.
Power bestowed to him by the owners. You’re missing the point. You come across as though Goodell is acting on his own behalf.

im curious.... have you seen any protests at Bengals games for Joe Mixon? Any public outcry for Joe Mixon? Because Joe Mixon wins the award for best uppercut on a female in the history of the league... I dont care that he was in ollege... no outcry by Bengals fans when he was drafted. Why? Because they all thought he could help them.... and he has.
This is exactly why the Personal Conduct Policy was put in place because the league knew the owners wouldn’t police themselves.

And why they didn’t want to do it themselves because it wouldn’t be popular with their fanbase. So they bestowed the power on the Commissioner to do the dirty work .

Right

This is all about appealing to the segment which were in an uproar over the decision. I’m not sure some of these fans are coming to terms why the league is intent on disciplining these players.

did the public really? we have no clue what the "Public, " thinks/ There wasnt any votes. Now the media... oh yea, they are outraged and they have been going nonstop.
This is where fans of the teams struggle with the Public Perception. These segments which are outraged or out crying often drive the medias responses which could impact public opinion which correlates with tv networks concerns and ultimately sponsors responses.

The NFL wants to be out in front of these issues and not waiting to see what the public response will be if they take no action. Diehard fans like you and I aren’t a concern for them. It’s the fringe fans which is made up of mostly women and or casual fans.

And these outraged groups are well organized. They use the media and could ultimately use the legislative arms if action wasn’t taken which is the bigger concern from the league. Basically the league is taking a Proactive stance on these Personal Conduct issues. It’s all about Public Perception they are policing themselves.

We don’t necessarily have to agree with it to grasp why they are undertaking an unpopular stance amongst the core of Diehard fans.

Two courts threw out criminal charges for lack of evidence. Public outcry>>>>facts I guess
Again, criminal charge threshold bruden is a lot different than civil threshold burden, stop conflating the two, Those are the facts!

Well criminal charges should have a different threshold, it's a lot more serious. So if he doesn't have criminal charges, that's a huge thing in his favor

Why????????????? The NFL has been trying to get women viewers for decades and along comes this serial women abuser, who visited women masseuses and sexually abused them non-stop and the NFL is backing this sick prick???????? No wonder the league is loaded with nothing but drugies, women abusers, tax cheaters, etc, the NFL welcomes these types with open arms. Personally, it wouldn't surprise me if I flipped a game on in Cleveland and didn't see one woman in the stands since they had the gull to sign the serial abuser to a contract that should be paid out to all the women these piece of crap abused! If there are any decent players left in the league, they would refuse to take the same field if the abuser is on it!

No, you have to read the story. The NFL is trying to appeal the decision to make it longer.

But it has no bearing for a code of conduct policy of an individual business when it comes to burden of proof which is more likely than not....

And the arbitrator agreed that he violated the code of conduct and that 6 games should be the penalty. The only reason the NFL is appealing is because the public crying. It's BS
Based only on 5 complaints when now there's 30......and the excuses by the arbitrator was little laughable, because he contributed to charity, I guess agreeing to settlements with complainants is part of his charity too......the guy deserves a year ban at least, flying women in from all over the country for just a massage, really???

If those women agreed to a settlement then what business of that is ours? How naive does someone have to be to think a grown man is flying you out for a massage? According to his lawyers, everything was consensual

Of course.

But this is the entire reason the NFL implemented their Personal Conduct Policy to be proactive to the media based public outcry.

It’s not necessary for fans like us to agree with it but grasp why the league felt the need.

I’m not sure you’re grasping the intent of the Personal Conduct Policy.

And for the sake of argument why would we lean more to what his lawyers state than the womens ?

We must remember and these professional athlete entertainers need to remember as well when you’re in the public eye your personal activity is out there for all to examine. That’s the price for fame and fortune .

Tell me something. How come these rules and regulations don't apply to the owners as well. Cris Canty on espn brought this up. No one should be above the law, correct?
