Every less hit he takes the better.

Maybe we can get 8 games out of him instead of 5.

I suspect the headline is written to get clicks. My guess is that the coaches went to him and let him know it was his choice and he was smart enough to choose "no." Emmitt stopped playing in preseason except for one series in the "dress rehearsal" after about his 3rd year. And after about year 6 I doubt he played a single snap in preseason. You guys have been click baited.

This article may or may not be full of ****. However, I wouldn't play him in the preseason at all. He doesn't need it. He's probably the only player that I would say that about.

Well he signed late in camp his rookie season and didn't play any. He played one series each in '91 and '92 and then of course there was the '93 contract situation. They went back to one series in '94 and '95 and I think that was the last time he played in the preseason until he played like a half that first year in AZ.

Hate to disagree bro but linemen need time together to get in sync. The five guys need to function as a unit and they need live bullets to learn how each one reacts to live situations and how they can best work together. Tyron is breaking in a rookie linemate and Zack needs to get more in sync with Steele and Biadasz. Our entire season is literally riding on those guys being good -- together!
