"No offensive lineman better encapsulates the 1990s than Allen, and no offensive guard better highlights what elite play at the position means than the 11-time Pro Bowler and seven-time All-Pro. Allen was the perfect combination of brute strength, agility, poise and violence at the point of attack. He's the prototype by which I evaluate offensive guard play. -- Matt Miller, NFL draft analyst"

FYI - Emmitt finished 4th behind Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, and Walter Payton

I don't think anyone would argue this.

As for the RBs, if you're judging on sheer talent, I wouldn't argue with their assessment. If you throw in durability, longevity, and blocking ability, I might.

I tend to agree. Barry Sanders, for example was electrifying to watch but he was really only asked to run away from people. To be fair, he could run away from people better than anyone I've ever seen. Emmitt was asked to do it all. Both backs would have been great on the others' team but neither would have been as effective, I think.

John Hannah was one of the best offensive guard to have ever played. It is very fitting he was recognized on the list. He came in second but I would not have minded him being listed 1B to Allen's 1A.

 I'm calling BS at the defensive tackle spot.
:angry:Bob Lilly was Aaron Donald before Aaron Donald.

#74

Seems to be slanted much more towards modern era players based on the defensive picks. Did give some love to bygone eras on offense though.

The defensive side does, a bit more than the offensive side. But Aaron Donald deserves that spot.

Larry Allen deserved it.
