Why would any player involve themselves in something where all they do is get grief from people who never once put on pads and stepped on a field to compete? That’s the only question I have. I hope he stays off of it and focuses on football!

Perhaps Diggs had an epiphany based upon social media reaction to what happened in practice:

"Do I need to breathe? Do I need to eat? Do I need Twitter?"

Many people answer themselves with a yes stutter. Perhaps Diggs is not one of those people. He will be if he ever creates another account.

Diggs college coach, Nick Saban, calls social media Rat Poison. He recommends not reading it at all.

Im sure he remembered that and deleted it. No need to let a bunch of people that don’t even know the game sit and criticize even a garden variety camp practice.

It’s a good move, and it certainly doesn’t mean he’s thin skinned.

Twitter is a cesspool of human excrement. How can you not lose your confidence reading the garbage that comes out of there?

He is better off without it. But with this generation social media is everything. So it would not surprise me if after a good game or 2 in the regular season he starts it up again, even though it would be dumb to do so.

Its how they build their brand.

Diggs was red meat at the end of last season, and offensive coordinators are champing at the bit to go after him and his mediocre cover skills and route jumping.

We'll see how he responds.

I’ve seen your post and seen you played college ball as well.

I wish the internet trolls would understand how hard it is playing DB 1 on 1 with no safety help and a pass rush lol. Just a wide open field to try and cover

Now imagine covering the elite of the elite

I deleted all my social media after I figured out social media makes me depressed and anxious. I read a study on it and the study found people who use or look at social media for 2 or more hours a day are more likely to be depressed and anxious.

So who knows why Diggs did it. Maybe he got tired of the noise. I really doubt it was because he got beat in practice.

Totally believe that, social media is a cesspool of hate and discontent that brings out the worst in people. I rarely read national news for similar reasons, it's loaded with lies and misinformation, why voluntarily poison myself?

Lol...no kidding @Tangle_Foot ! What's Trevon going to do when his little boy son starts questioning his dad's performance against CeeDee?
o_O

Those plays were he got burned were odd. I get the feeling he practicing a change in footwork.
- There was something odd about his footwork in the rep vs CeeDee.

He was lined up in press man but didn't touch the WRs off the line.

1: In a real game, if Diggs is playing press-man with no Safety help, he's going to find a way to contact the WR off the line even if he has to hold him.

2: He probably wouldn't play press man without Safety help anyway. He is best in off-man.

Well, it was just Junior college, lol, no big deal.

But yes, in practice getting beat absolutely happens to everyone.

There truly are a lot of people who 100% do not know what they’re talking about and just say things emotionally or repeat something they’ve heard, and don’t know enough to realize that it is wrong.

The only thing a football player should focus on is the product they put out on the field.

Social media does not pay the bills right now. It is a non-value added distraction, and can be detrimental to your loved ones if you engage.

NFL teams should be putting up Cole Beasley and his girlfriend as prime examples of why social media is a fool's game.

He better get used to it because it seems as though this is the type of DB he is - boom or bust. He'll most likely always be a ballhawk, but he'll most likely pay for it once in a while.

Diggs is far closer to a Marcus Peters than he is a Revis.

I have been critical of the NFL and how they have made it harder on DBs in the last two decades, but a DB like Diggs shouldn't be getting burned the way he was last season.

I think the truth is, Diggs will always be in the mold of a Marcus Peters - he's going to get burned hard every few games, but he'll create turnovers. The issue here is, averaging 8-10 INTs a season isn't going to happen, so those times he gets burned are going to be a little harder to justify when his average falls to about 4-5 INTs like it is now for Peters.
