I'm not as excited as last year. I don't think we'll be as good. I'll still watch every game though.

I feel like we're building on the minor successes we had last year, so I'm about a level 8 of 10 as far as excitement.

Firstly, Micah Parsons really changes the scope of the entire team. I can't remember the last time I've been so excited about a player for the Cowboys. He definitely changes the dynamic of the team. And just his presence alone means teams have to spend time and effort scheming against him, which helps every aspect of the team if you ask me.

I wasn't as excited about Sam Williams before the draft. But after, I started learning more and more about him, as well as his so-called "character issues," which I feel were overblown. So I'm pretty high on him as well.

And Tyler Smith wasn't the sexiest pick. But I'm excited to see what he's capable of in the future.

I'm also excited to see what Tolbert can do. There were times when I felt like he was the best WR in the entire draft even though there were a ton of WRs in this draft.

Next comes Ridgeway. He's growing on me. Not sure if he's the answer, but I'm excited to find out.

Lastly, I think Anthony Barr brings a lot to the table as far as dynamics and he adds even more flexibility to our defensive scheme.

I think the biggest question marks are still on the offensive line and defensive line.

My biggest fear, which would really dampen my excitement about this year, would be Cee Dee Lamb being injured.

If Lamb goes down for any significant amount of time, Dallas could be in trouble. That is, unless Tolbert really rises to the occasion.

Hey guys,

I made a similar thread after the playoff loss last year and things felt more bleak than hopeful, but a new season is around the corner, so I wanted to check in and see how everyone is feeling about it.

Given what we currently know about the roster and overall team/organization dynamic, what are you expecting/hoping for out of the season?

Yes, I know I'm mostly known as a hater around here, so I'm sure nobody will be shocked to hear that I'm not overly optimistic about 2022. It seems the roster got worse and then Stephen & Jerry are spinning it, per usual, by trying to voice their "confidence" in all the young guys.

Overall though, I'm still feeling the hangover from the 49er loss.

I'm struggling to find much excitement and that's a very foreign feeling for me concerning the Cowboys, especially in August.

Anyways, I'm rambling. How do y'all feel???

Im going to go out on a limb here and say that you didnt predict the Cowboys would go 12-5 last year after the 6-10 debacle from the year prior?

You say the team go worse? What part exactly? Because from where I am standing this defense is going to be even better then last year. The running game cant be any worse then it was the 2nd half of last year.

What will determine how good this year is will be the state of the Oline. Tyler Smith is leagues better than Connor Williams or Mcgovern. But the moment Tyron Smith goes down and they start shuffling the line all over the place, thats when things will once again start to go sideways.

I think it will be tougher to go 12-5 again this year. Schedule is tougher and the Eagles are better. Difficult schedule in the beginning. So if we get off to a rough start and then Tyron Smith goes down that could be tough.

Personally I like a lot of our young guys and veterans like Connor Williams, Collins, Cooper, Gregory will be somewhat of an addition by subtraction.

like a 4.5 out of 10, kinda expecting a clunker of season, hoping it is not.

Based on what? Losing Amari Cooper?
More Zeke not less as he continues to decline. The WR room is full of no names and rookies. The O-line is either the same as last year or possibly worse, depth is really scary there. Defense might be an improvement but I won't be excited until I see it in action. If they do have a top 3 defense this can be a good year but looking at other teams I don't expect this team to do any more than get to divisional round and lose.

Fair enough. I see the Oline as better. But that changes once Tyron Smith goes down. Gallup and Lamb are our top 2 receivers so Im not sure where the no name thing comes from. And then we have Shultz which is really our #2 pass catcher on the team.

I've stated many times that I'm no longer buying in, as far as postseason success, until I see it. My expectations in January have gotten so low that I thought the Niners would win. Shocker, they did. Jerry was stunned, as usual, because he never sees it coming. He still looks at his team like an optimistic fan, not an objective GM.

I don't expect to match last season's win total, but that doesn't necessarily rule out playoffs or possibly even a division title. Anything beyond that would be a pleasant surprise, nor would I be shocked if the Cowboys miss the playoffs altogether. It's not like we haven't been riding the up and down roller coaster for the past 15 years.

I'm at a 2, possible 1-1/2. Doesn't feel good at all to me.

Our rushing attack will be better, with Tyler and Steele, so Dak will be better. Our defense will be better, Joseph and Hooker, so our team is better. And our special teams will be better with Turpin on our roster. So we've gotten better in all three phases of the game.

It'll be a tough start, so11-6 sounds about right. But that comes with a trip to the NFCCG.

Flat. Perhaps a little suspense as to who makes it.

Hope they pick the best 53 and figure who the first 22 will start to do the job.

8-9..too many question marks :(
If we win more than 8 games I will be surprised.
I see the Jags and Lions beating us so the only gimmie games are the Giants, and Texans, Bears, split with D.C. and maybe the Eagles also due to Hurts.
Don't be surprised if we end up with 5-6 wins.
It's all on Prescott this season (Zeke can't anymore) and you all know how I feel about this player's talent base.

Micah is the one player I'm excited about this year.
He's the only one who's been able to back up the talk.

Everything else is lip service.
So, all a player needs to do to have you be excited about him is to be an all-pro as a rookie and the most impactful LB to come out of the draft since Lawrence Taylor?

Makes sense.

The Niners won because they had the better football team. Its as simple as that. Just like they walked into GB the next week and beat the Packers.

IF you thought we should have won that game, and especially after all the injuries and Oline issues the 2nd half of last year then that is on you. NOTHING to do with buying in.
