It does.
Unless you think guaranteeing nearly a quarter billion dollars to a QB who...

When you're on 3 different teams all over a single season you're likely nearing the end of your career.

I said he was done when we let him go. Green Bay kicked the tires for what, three weeks?

He's smart and if he saved his money will never need to "work" again.

Stop. Most people was running around here talking Vanjaylon when him and Leighton was Ballin. Calling them the next great lb duo, it just didn't work out. People was praising the front office.

They like to do this when they look bad. Pretend you must have thought that way too. Everybody did at the time.

I most definitely did never said I didn't, but I'm not acting like all of a sudden I knew he would be out the league.

If you actually watched the guy play...and not look at his stats...he had no business being in the Pro Bowl. He cannot play. And his injury was only partially the issue. If he was Sean Lee between the ears...Jaylon would still be in the NFL...heck he would still be in Dallas. He had zero anticipation. He could not diagnose. His nickname should have been "false step". And this is before we even get to his physical limitations.

I think this is unfair revisionist history. Jaylon was playing well during that time. It's a bit different when players who've made a bunch of Pro Bowls get selected based on their past success. Smith made it because he deserved it at the time. Now, he doesn't deserve to be on a team, so he's not.

It’s August 8, and Jaylon Smith is still unsigned.

Your apology is accepted.

If he deserved to be in the Pro Bowl..then that blocking sled deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

This is the NFL. You have to consider the guys in that lockeroom and the coaches. ALL of them could see this guy in the film room. You would lose all credibility if you continued the clown show that was Jaylon Smith. Which is why Quinn (who had no ties to him and I am pretty sure told Jerry that if you want my defense to work, you have to get Jaylon off the field and out of the building). I've watched the tape. It is some of the most jaw dropping tape I have ever seen. And not in a good way. Every game he looked as if he had just started playing football that day. He simply was just running around out there. Showing up to piles and diving on top of them. Occasionally he would jump on a ball carriers back after he was 7+ yards down the field.

I said it back then. I said he would never make it out of another teams training camp. Little did I know he it would be true because he would never be invited!!!!!!!

I get it, some guys don't pan out. It happens. But when you cannot play at all, that is just embarrassing. Especially from a Hall of Fame GM

Looking at this list, Gavin Escobar really jumps out at me. How on earth does this happen? And lest we forget the tight end from LSU that Jerry got for Troy. Don't remember the full story, but the "workout" or "process" we applied in making that decision, I just remember being dumfounded when I heard how we chose him.
