Honestly, I have zero excitement, but I'm watching for the entertainment factor. This team isn't going far, so I'll just cheer for certain individuals to ball out.

I do want them mollywhop the Eagles tho!!!

so what’s your prediction for a relatively healthy squad?

Do you want some tissues? Wanna turn in your wittle fan card?

naw. i’m just not excited. i’m on record saying i thought that we’ve regressed from last year when we were already not good enough. and i don’t want the season to be filled with guys nitpicking every mistake that Diggs makes like they do with Dak.

but also i’d smack you into next Tuesday lol

Hey guys,

I made a similar thread after the playoff loss last year and things felt more bleak than hopeful, but a new season is around the corner, so I wanted to check in and see how everyone is feeling about it.

Given what we currently know about the roster and overall team/organization dynamic, what are you expecting/hoping for out of the season?

Yes, I know I'm mostly known as a hater around here, so I'm sure nobody will be shocked to hear that I'm not overly optimistic about 2022. It seems the roster got worse and then Stephen & Jerry are spinning it, per usual, by trying to voice their "confidence" in all the young guys.

Overall though, I'm still feeling the hangover from the 49er loss.

I'm struggling to find much excitement and that's a very foreign feeling for me concerning the Cowboys, especially in August.

Anyways, I'm rambling. How do y'all feel???
I am doubtful that this season will be as good as last season. They lost several starters and they don’t sign free agents, so it might get ugly. Replacing those starters with cheap talent is a recipe for for disaster.

Meh go tell that to Eli Manning and Joe Burrows 10-7 Bengals last year. Don't make me go back season by season just to prove how wrong you are. Please. I'm busy at work today.
both eli SB teams were very good at end of season , and bengals were hot at end of season as well. They played very good thru the playoffs.
So if you think they were weak teams that just got lucky, I dont know what to tell u lol

Well besides your avatar making me continue participating in this forum  I will of course also continue to be a Cowboys fan. Just not a paying one anymore. No Jerseys or Hats for the family and me this season. Actually not until they reach an NFCCG, whenever that will be. I can only "vote" with my wallet, so that's what I'm gonna do. And since around here you have to stay up until 4am monday morning to watch most Cowboys games live I will cease doing that too. Replays on monday night will suffice.

I still think like I said in my other thread about the first seven games last season, that we do have a good squad together. If thats enough to make us a true SB contender remains to be seen. But after 26 years of nothingness just having .500+ seasons is simply not good enough, if what follows is a one and out all the time.
I wonder where you live that you would have to stay up till 4am to see games!!

As for the 1st 7 games, you have to look at who they played.
chargers- good team but got them early, and refs were hard on the chargers, dallas barely wins 20-17
Carolina- ok but not a good team last year
Minnesota- lol beat them with Rush at qb, what does that say about them?
Atlanta- really bad team 43-3
eagles and giants in jerry dome, 2 easy wins against 1 really bad team and 1 that was ok at times and did make playoffs.
eagles were only playoff team dallas beat in this stretch or maybe all season?
patriots - again it helped to get them early, dallas wins in OT game, so could have gone either way like the chargers game.

So just being fair Dallas beat 2 decent teams, pats and chargers, the rest were bottom tier teams, except phil who was up and down, but
dominated by dallas.

Take a look at dallas schedule, then look at Denver schedule, they had a really hard one, as all the teams in their div are good,
they beat all the nfce teams except phil lol, so that gave them 3 of their 7 wins, if they got to play all the nfce teams 2 times like dallas does,
they would have wound up 10-7 or 11-6 and in playoffs.

you’ve got a lot to be excited about. already poised to make a leap and in position to grab a difference maker next year.

And our 1st round pick is treating the NFL’s #1 rated Oline like his personal play thing

It looks like a child, but that’s a normal sized NFL lineman he’s pushing

Its about understanding what this team is and what they arent. If you just blindly go into each season thinking they need to win the SB to make you happy, then you will be miserable every time.

only time i went into a season with sb expectations was 2008 and was humbled very quickly. since then i just try to enjoy the ride and see where it goes. this season though i just don’t have my usual excitement. hopefully they surprise me

I have never seen a post from you that indicates any football knowledge.

I enjoy the development of the young players as much as anything. If this team can go 12-5 again I think that’s a great regular season for them.

One thing that does stand out about going into this season is just how shaky the depth chart is on the OL and WR and even RB.

Depth is a problem for most teams but the Cowboys seem more vulnerable to that this season. And when instead of if at LT is at the head of that list.

I feel they have to have exemplary health this season to get anything above 9 wins.

Okay let's use your logic that not only can anything not happen in the playoffs, but you have to be the best team and hottest team to win a SB.

Remember when the 10-6 Ravens went 1-4 in December and won a SB. They weren't hot and they weren't good.

Next.
