This guy looks like he could be legit in a few years. He's been spending time with Tom Brady. Apparently, Deion has the kind of money to pay a mentor like that for his son. Guy definitely has some of Sanders' athleticism, although he's no Deion.

Do we have any interest in him in 2025-26?

He's got a pretty sick QB rating, especially for a freshman .

How do you pronounce that first name ? LOL

His completion % needs to go up and his INT's down. It won't get easier vs better competition.

It's very interesting what Deion's doing at Jackson State. He recently pulled in the #1 high school recruit in America... dude didn't go to Alabama, he didn't go to Ohio State, he went to a D-2 HBCU.

Because of a big fat check, if I'm not mistaken. Money talks and he can probably transfer in a year or two and suffer no real consequences from playing at a lower level.

Not interested. Didn't see anything much different than any other college QB with big mobility.

If Deion gets offered the FSU job, then his son goes, and I think that would determine the kids true value. Otherwise, I would guess, he will be a 5th or 6th round pick and peak as a backup or practice squad player. I see him as more a Taysom Hill than a Baker Mayfield.

I do wish the best and it would be awesome to see this kid make it big in the NFL.

He looks good. I think he could make it easier staying in the pocket, he’s got some Vick in his game.

Seriously, in all honesty, nobody can [accurately] judge him right now because he's only a freshman. How in the world do you project he'll be drafted in any round 4 years from now no matter where he plays? Let's be honest. Yes, Jackson State isn't going to wow too many people with their academic or athletic program, unless it's that rare point in time where you have a coach like Deion Sanders.

As much as I like JSU's James Houston, and as much as I think he should have been drafted sooner than the 6th, the fact he got drafted at all was a testament to the status Deion brings by coaching there. Many players choose division I schools because it's not uncommon for a player to be overlooked because they're perceived to be playing for a less prestigious, division II program.

I'm not sure the Deion/Shedeur duo would win anywhere else nearly as much as their set to win at JSU. After jterrell gave me the skinny describing the path Deion took to get there, I can see that he's really only coaching because of his son. Living a bit vicariously during his apparent mini mid-life crisis. He's still Deion; still obsessed with winning. I think his son will get drafted, mostly because I think he's a decent QB. For a freshman to have that kind of success even at a small school is actually impressive. He's accomplishing the most with his arm. I don't know. That's a pretty lucky hand to be dealt, though. To be born the son of Deion Sanders.

It's interesting, many would agree that Deion obviously doesn't have the type of education most people get at a D1 school. And he probably didn't do jack diddly academically to earn his Cracker Jack degree, which he only needed so he could coach. But that doesn't mean he hasn't learned some things from his experiences in life. Deion has been brilliant with his choice of assistant coaches. Even hiring Brady to coach his son. Like I said, what a situation to luck in to.

Deion nostalgia aside, I think Shedeur is obviously good enough to play at a division I school. But I really do kind of admire the fact he went to Jackson State to gain the experience during his freshman year instead of riding the pine behind some non-legacy, no-name QB. A privileged rich kid stands to learn a whole lot from having to tough it out with the others, who mostly saw JSU as a stepping stone upward. It should be entertaining. If these two weren't any good in their respective roles, I wouldn't even mention them. But I'm kind of excited to see how all of this plays out. I like underdogs. And I like Deion, and his kid.
