This has been my fear the whole offseason. Adding Smith on the oline will help but the rest of our oline including Tyron and Martin aren’t roadgraders. They’re technically excellent blockers but they’re not going to drive 330lb DTs into the DBs. McGovern maybe the softest blocker we have had at guard in Cowboys history. And we did absolutely nothing to beef up the DT position. Expecting Ridgeway to come in and be a bully is crazy.

Tyler Smith might help if he’s starting but right now McGovern is ahead of him. At least that’s what’s being reported. That’s not a good sign.

I agree with this. I think the fact that Chubb accidentally knocked down Elliott, along the fighting and some of our running game blocking breaking down contributed to this idea. It seemed to me on the pass plays they showed that Dak usually had plenty of time. An AP article I read said that he was "sacked" a couple of times by an outside linebacker (Nik Bonito), but I'm pretty sure that happened after we took Tyron out and put Ball in. ,…d.

If its through the edge that would be understandable, but I think most pressure was through the middle - from OG and Center lanes.

Biadaz is not the answer and McGovern is backup only …

I think it was Gallimore who talked about the thin air up there. First real practice and already making excuses. But D-Law beat everyone by saying he'll be great...if he plays all season.

Not against Dak. The two "sacks" against him were by an OLB. Most of the time from what I saw, the pocket was pretty clean when he was in it. Granted, they did not show every snap.

It's bad enough the Toad Hunter is calling signals and now it appears that the O-Line which has seen better days is all but done even before the rewal season starts. What the O-Line needs is better coaching, it's time to bring back that NASTY coach Columbo who did a pretty decent job when he was here!

They did it last year too. Dallas never shoulda gotten rid of Collins. Worst move in 10 years and worse than losing Cooper.

No freaking way. We've done much stupider things in the last decade, than get rid of an overhyped, often injured/suspended guard.

For the record I didn't like the move, but let's not make LC more than he was here.

True, but neither are the people here reading it.

I do, however, remember the Broncos pushing Dallas around in a real game not long ago. Has anything significantly changed since then?

That's a question only time will answer.

True, but it seems like this has been a problem for a while now. Good, physical teams push the Cowboys around. They don't even need a great QB to beat Dallas that way.

Sure would be nice to start stuffing these teams, outside of the NFC Least.

To be fair this article said about the same regarding Denver besting us

https://www.yahoo.com/news/broncos-best-dallas-cowboys-feisty-220258558.html

On paper, the Broncos seemingly got the best of the Cowboys with their defense only allowing one touchdown while Russell Wilson and the Broncos offense crossed the goal line several times.

Wilson also tossed pick-6 to defensive end Tarell Basham. And he was under heavy duress for much of the day by Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, who would have several would-be sacks if they could touch the quarterbacks.

Minus the rookie I wouldn't keep anybody we have on the line. Martin hasn't been the same since Frederick retired. Smith is just too old. Steel is serviceable with question marks. And anybody else shouldn't even be in the conversation:facepalm:

I think the Broncos just realized they were hopelessly overmatched and resorted to playing a joint scrimmage like a playoff game.

Whereas we are so disciplined we never strayed from the objective of getting some practice reps in.

One team was desperate because the other was so talented.

Exactly what they did to us during the regular season last year. They won because our superior playoff bound talent caused them to panic and play at a frantic pace.

oline will kill this team again.Biadaz is a huge liability and he is not even a good backup. If he is starting Center we are in dire straits.
I don’t know what’s wrong with Biadasz. He was the highest rated run blocker in college. He broke records with his play. He was injured when he was drafted and he never recovered to the level that he was before the injuries.

They are not supposed to get physical during a scrimmage. They don't keep score, the QB's are wearing red jerseys.

If a player got hurt because another decided to get physical that player's coach would be all over the other coach.

Scrimmages are a form of practice, they are structured and sometimes there are deliberate mismatches.

The Broncos won nothing, All they did was motivate the Cowboys tomorrow night.

Well, we can look for Costco to be the official warehouse store of the Cowboys come Monday.

Listening to Nate Newton and Isaiah Stanback our OL get whipped! Tyler Smith isn’t getting a lot of starting reps so it’s already starting to look like he could possibly be a mistake. McGovern was worse than Connor Williams and if Smith can’t beat him out good luck!
