Lamb, Tolbert, Fehoko as the Starting 3?

CeeDee
Gallup
Tolbert
Noah
Fehoko
Vasher

These are the six I would choose to make up our WR corps. Each one has his own qualities that can help our Offense on the field.

Turpin can be listed as Special Teams (punt returner). His spot on the 53 takes over the FB position which we won't need (goodbye Nall...a TE like Jake Ferguson could be used at FB when a FB is needed for a lead block). Turpin can come in an be used sparingly when needed on Offense.

POST EDIT: Since the Cowboys placed Michael Gallup on the preseason PUP (player unable to perform) list which lasts ONLY through preseason, they can also include him on the regular season PUP/Injury Reserve list to start the regular season which would force him to sit out the first 4 games. This would give him the extra time needed to fully recover and be ready from a torn ACL.

If this happens, this temporary roster spot could open up a WR spot for UDFA Dennis Houston who has been performing well so far in training camp, but it would be temporary. The Cowboys would have to decide whether to keep Houston while cutting someone else once Gallup comes back in October, or they could cut Houston after 4 weeks with hopes that he makes it down to their practice squad.

Vasher wont make it unless there is another injury. Maybe they stash him on the PS or something.

I wouldn't want to leave out Turpin, but I have a feeling he'll solidify his role as a PR. Maybe get some reps at slot, eventually.

But wouldn't it be great if Fehoko makes a big enough improvement this year to get the #3 spot?

I think he can do it. It would give our offense the speed it needs, and could help the run game some if he can hit on some of those deep routes.

It would ... just like Cedrick Wilson emerged as a terrific No.3 when Gallup was out .. and Ceddy still contributed even when Gallup returned.

These are what you'd hope these late round pick guys like Cedrick and hopefully Simi can develop into ..

That would be great, but I bet they go with more of a possession guy like Brown or Houston. I could see them putting Fehoko in more in 4 WR sets and letting him run deep. Or down by the GL.

Fehoko is legit.

He's going to be difficult to bench, I suspect. It could end up being a blessing in disguise that Washington got hurt, because now Fehoko gets a shot, at least I hope he does.

Fehoko had done absolutely NOTHING up until these last two weeks of camp. But he has been looking so good I dont know how they dont play him. I would probably play him, however I think they will play a guy like Brown that gives them more versatility and possession type catches. I think they see Fohoko as more of a deep threat.

Brown has had too good of a camp not to be in that mix, besides he offers the most experience of any receiver. Tolbert will get his but it won't be as one of the starting receivers.

This. I expect Brown to make the field a lot. Dak has a lot of years experience throwing to Brown, and Brown a lot in the offense. Big learning curve coming into the NFL for WRs.

When we lose, make sure and come back and say I told you so. And next year, after we lose, make sure you embrace the whole 28 years thing even more than you did the 27.

I personally don't think Dak cares too much who the WRs are. Everyone is down on Cooper being gone, but I'm pretty sure Tolbert is going to be just fine. He's going to surprise this year.

I also think a guy like Noah Brown can get 500 yards in a season, if he gets enough reps.

I'm am anxious to see your boy Semi tonight.

I focused on him last preseason. He made visible improvement just from the first 2021 preseason game he played until the last one he played.
- Not specific to the results (catches) but you can often see when young players are not confident in their assignments.
- He was completely lost in the first one, but with each game he looked more confident.
- I like to watch young WRs run blocking. It's a good way to see if they know the playbooks and their assignments.

I read somewhere that Ben Dinucci will be getting most of the snaps tonight.

We won't see anything from any of the receivers tonight I'm afraid.

If Fehoko makes the starting three it will point more to the bad situation we’re in at WR than his improvement. He would be battling for the 5th spot if we had the receivers we had last season.

nope will be Lamb and a WRBC type deal rotating Semi, tolbert, turpin, and brown in and out depending on scheme and alignment for play called. for ONE month max,

rumors are game 2-5 Gallup returns. This isnt an emergency if we can't come up with 3 games to gameplan using a Run game, Lamb in motion and hidden in bunches, Pollard , zeke and Schutz etc to cover up Gallup missing, well thats on MOORE.
I’d be fine if Gallup takes his time and doesn’t rush it. Gonna need him this season.

Is Grier injured?

I have not seen much video of DiNucci in camp throwing to WRs, but I did see him and the others in drills throwing at targets.
- DiNucci was very accurate throwing at the targets and appears to have a bigger arm than Grier or Rush.
- Reading defenses and finding open WRs is his challenge. If he tucks and runs every other play, then you'll know he's not progressing.

I'm looking at three guys out there, mostly. Fehoko, Brown and Tolbert..

I know some are excited about Vasher, too. Also, Turpin.

I'm usually not that excited about preseason games. But I want to see what some of the new guys on this team look like out there.

I haven't followed the offseason at all - how has Tolbert looked?

Noah Brown is a starter at this point. It's cool to see Simi developing. Turpin should be used as a RB too as I think he's more natural at that position...Pollard n Turpin could bring a crazy speed factor to the run game and short passing game.

Maybe they'll do the rb/wr with Turpin. For whatever reason they refuse to do it with Pollard, though I think he's the best hybrid offensive skills player we've had for a decade, and I doubt that Turpin is any better.

I think it is likely to be Lamb, Brown and Fehoko. Tolbert has to prove he is ready and don't think he has done that.

I’m getting young miles Austin vibes from semi.

Exactly, I said it day one - If given the opportunity Simi Fehoko will win this job. He has size, speed and toughness big time; He may not make the Big wow play, but he makes plays consistently.

Tolbert? He is the #2 right now opposite Diggs until Gallup gets back. The only real question is whether Brown, Foheko, or Houston is the #3 guy. Based on yesterday I believe that Fehoko was on the outside? Where was Brown yesterday?
