you should be a scout.

Yes I know. Good idea. Maybe we could finally get somewhere instead of listening to idiots who think they are going to bring in 26 year old pro bowl players to sit on the bench playing swing.

If Jason Peters is up for it why not? I just don't see why a guy like that would hang around the league as a swing tackle. He has made his money, won a ring, and will go down as one of the top Olineman Philly has had. Just seems to me that he doesnt really need the NFL at 40 years old, plus him going to Dallas probably doesnt help his reputation around Philly.

OL can play in late thirties but he is 40 , correct ? Bit over the hill and also not an answer for long .

I would go for some OT ( decent ) with a few years NFL experience .

I guess maybe we could sign williams the old Bengals tackle that pretty much cost them the SuperBowl as he was getting ran over, ran around, and ran through. That would just be sooooooooo much better. LMAO!

Cowboys Not gonna sign a big name known vet to be a starter ... and it's gonna depend upon vet minimal dollars for a one year rental.

Stephen is/will always .always ...always think free agency with a " Money Ball" approach and mentality, ...family dollar type cheap .

And not only that, but they would likely wait it out until after the 1st reg game so salary is not guaranteed.

More so? .... other NFL teams may be willing to out-bid for the better available FA vet tackles out there, something Stephen is not gonna be
willing to do ,.. even for the sake of help for his franchise QB

Bryan Bulaga (McCarthy familiar) and Eric Fisher may make the most sense .. as backups .. than aging, immobile Jason Peters at this point

So has tyron. More than Peters actually. Last year Peters started 15 games,...the year before 8 games, the year before all 16. Bear in mind,...I want him as a swing only. Much less chance of getting injured.

Exactly, he'd make nice depth. I'm all for it.

On a 1 year deal to play swing tackle. Old as dirt,...still mean as hell. He wants another shot at a ring. Bring him in on some of those heavy packages lined up at T.E as a blocker on some of those 3rd and ones. Guy can STILL play,...be our swing.

I was thinking about him last night -- former Pro Bowler who probably can't hold up for an entire season but still might be better than any of our backups either at guard or tackle. I wouldn't be opposed to it.

Of course, I badly wanted him back when he signed as a UDFA with Buffalo and then when he left the Bills for Philly, so maybe I'm just living in the past.

Don't know of the health status of the following OT's but...
Tyrrell Crosby maybe, former Lion who has started and logged some quality NFL snaps. Some rumors floated that the Lions medical staff had not been fair/honest with his past injuries. Def worth a look.

Teven Jenkins in Chicago had some kinda injury situation falling out/concerns with their FO was the last I heard. He just played recently so the Bears may have shored things up with him. Def another prospect if contractually available.

Brandon Shell, Bobby Massie, Kendall Lamb.
These are more of doing due diligence on medicals or are they even an upgrade to current JAGS already on the present Cowboys depth chart types.
McClay would know.

Yeah, need to start turning over every stone to find an upgrade if Josh Ball is what is being sold as the Swing Tackle.

This is from last year on Peters playing for Chicago:

From Weeks 1 through 14, Peters played 89.62 percent of the Bears’ offensive snaps, including 100 percent of them in 10 of 13 games, and only allowed three penalties and five sacks, which isn’t ideal but could be a whole lot worse when you consider the Bears have allowed the most sacks in the league at a brutal 49.

Based on last night, Ball would give up five sacks in a game.

It would make sense if the team were trying to contend this year but judging by the front office's actions they're content with playing all the young guys, saving money and taking their lumps on offense. They're already overextended on offensive spending.

11 seasons at Philly...I doubt he's looking to come to Dallas to play on 5m for one year and mess up his legacy with the Eagles.

Overextended? They have the cap space and I'd rather they spend it on someone reliable. Josh Ball is going to get Dak hurt and will ruin our entire season.
