Jerry's the sad sack you see at 2am in the morning on a weekday at the casino feeding the slot machine. He's got his special chair at the same spot he won 25 years ago.

The fans aren't the problem...

Be in the here and now… that’s what Jimmy Johnson would say! You are what your record says you are, like a Parcells said!

Now if we could just make a trade like the Herschel Walker trade, we could get back to where the Cowboys rightfully belong!!

Good post!
Can we trade Big and little Enos?

The Raven and Texans were 4-12 as expansion teams. The Cleveland Browns were 2-14 the season they were reborn. The Jaguars and Panthers were 4-12 and 7-9 respectively. The Bucs were winless in their inaugural season and the Seahawks 2-12.

Why in the world would I want to imagine this team being an expansion team? How could you expect anyone to enjoy such a nightmare scenario?

At this particular moment there happens to be 32 NFL teams whose fans have "unrealistic" expectations.

Forget about 2021, the Broncos, the 49ers, the penalties. For that matter, forget about Jimmy Johnson, Tom Landry, the 5 Super Bowls.

Make a commitment that you are going to live in the moment and enjoy this season, one game, one practice at a time and you are not going to burden the Joneses, the coaches, the players etc. with all of your psychotic expectations, the need for the current Dallas Cowboys to live up to the past legacy.

Just pretend this is an expansion team - after all every season is really a new team. Be grateful for every win, and be even more gracious in defeat.

Sounds like a Arlington Jonesboys fan...Hard Core. The real Dallas Cowboys are judged on playoffs, championship games, and Super Bowls.

Dallas Cowboys are about Championship expectations and results. So are the Yankees, Dodgers, Celtics, Lakers, Real Madrid, Golden State Warriors, and any other team that ownership, GM, and Coach have this as the no.1 priority.

Don't like it pick another below average or mediocrity team that does not have the legacy of the Dallas Cowboys. Why is the nickname America's Team? America loves losing and mediocrity.

I enjoy every season for what it is.
But no way I am forgetting the past as it adds context to the current season.

So sad to see so many Cowboys fans hold onto their misery like a security blanket. Even today as there are signs of the offense coming alive, to see the misery spread on this website like a plague. Very sad.

Hmmmm

Last season was the breaking point for me. Once Denver pummeled the Cowboys into submission, I knew deep down we were not good enough to advance in the playoffs. Just another Jason Garrett type of season.

Actually, there have been mostly two kinds of seasons ever since the last SB win in 1996. We start slow and end somewhere in the middle. Or we start off hot and fizzle out. Talent level doesn't seem to matter. Oh yes, every few years we bottom out and get a top ten pick.

Hate to say it, but I actually root for a 2-3 year stretch of 2 or 3 win seasons just to get the Cowboys Organization to get real about how bad their front office really is.

For a long time I was a hardcore believer in Kellen Moore and the Boise State way. But he has been ruined by Garrett, McCarthy and the Joneses. I can't do it anymore. And I see the same thing happening to Quinn if he stays long enough.

Nothing short of the Joneses selling the Cowboys is going to turn this around, I'm afraid.

Shut up
