Thoughts on Bland?

I fully admit I fell asleep early. I saw the TD drive and 2 point conversion and that was it but how did Bland play?

I saw him get beat early but didn’t see much else after

I saw enough of Wright to know I’m not sure I want him on roster. CB to me is more of a position of concern than I felt coming into camp

Diggs is the best but certainly not Deion , Joseph may not even make roster .

Cornerbacks get beat. He was solid in the game overall.

hes a bubble cut guy. But I think he will get stashed, and we hang onto him. He didnt have a great game but wasnt bad either. I think he will be a starter in 2023. This year will be where he gets used in dime/nickel.

Bland is real close t him. He is sneaky good. He just needs real game reps against elite wr's.

bland also reminds me of how brown played his first two years. if he stays he will only be used in dime formations.

He did not play that well last night IMO. Completely lost his man at least 3 times on completions that I saw - may have been more. But, just like with the guys ahead of him I wouldn’t base his ability to make the team on a few plays in preseason.

EXACTLY. I was a db in HS. My secondary coach said I better learn to have a short memory (right after I was beat on a 70 yard td) because I have to go back out there the next drive. He told all of us db's we better have amnesia. Later in the game I had an interception that won us the game. Like u said, db's gonna get beat. NOBODY is perfect at DB. Even Deion Sanders was beat now and again. Its the nature of the beast.

Daron Bland seems on the right track to help this team produce a better secondary than it's had for a while now. Here's hoping he'll continue to be the improving secondary player that we've needed for so long. It's early yet but if he keeps developing his skills, good things will come. Here's hoping he'll do just that. The signs say that's entirely possible if he keeps working hard enough. The best ones don't get discouraged after getting beat. So far, he hasn't. Good luck in making that continue to occur. His consistency for a rookie is extremely rare. It's very encouraging.

He was better the first game than this one, but still better than Wright. I don't think there is any doubt that he will make the team.

the dime and nickel will be his gig. We will ease him in. In 2023 he might start.

he’s a rookie with potential at a important position

I never could comprehend why we let him walk. Dude has some nice skills. Last I saw he was starting for someone.

Joseph started slowly last night but played better overall than Bland did IMO. Both were better than Wright.
