Here we are again cowboys fans we have someone to talk about! It was Barr, now it's Jason Peters. I love the fact that we have Tyler Smith, I'd love it more if he could get some good mentoring from a guy like Peters.

He's already stressed that he's willing to pass on knowledge to younger players. Smith should be a sponge to him, Martin, and Tyron!

Could anyone see if we signed him, that Peters would go to left tackle where he's been playing, and we could keep Smith at guard where he's been playing?? At some point we will have to move on from Tyron, so he'll be going from spot to spot unless we get a good tackle next summer and keep him at guard for his career.

I don't want to put too much on this player, and it's too much for him then we as fans label him a bust! Sorry to go off topic, I'm excited we have someone to talk about again. I hope CAP BOY gives some money to another player, Peters all you have to do is say yes!!!!!

I mean, it would make sense to have Peters play tackle and have your raw OL with talent/ develop slowly and at guard this year.
The following offseason tell Smith he'll be at left tackle potentially and get to work with trainers to prepare.

Peters would 100% start at LT. Smith stays at LG and McGovern goes to depth LG/RG/C. It’s a huge upgrade
I think that is the most likely scenario if we sign him, but far from 100%. Jerry has publicly felt the need to state that T Smith 73 will be the opening day LT and we know how Jerry doesn't like to admit anything he said was incorrect even if something as simple as saying it was the case at the time I said it

Just because Jerry says something doesn't mean it is the truth. He's all about the smokescreens. He will never say he was wrong though.

Peters does not know this offense yet, not at all familiar with his line mates, and you have to gauge what his current conditioning is at near age 40,
and you know he's a big boy at 330+ lbs
So I would think he's more of a backup insurance piece , if he's immediately signed on.

Flip side is rookie Tyler Smith being immediately thrown to the wolves after just playing exclusively at OG all this summer.
It's gonna be pure survival mode with the way he's being prepared, imo.

Peters has been vocal he wants to play tackle. He’s not signing here to be a swing tackle or guard IMO

I wonder if they would rather him play guard to help Tyler at LT. Let's be honest, even at 40, his experience and strength are huge upgrades over McG. In fact, I would argue for Tyler, it's like playing next to your coach on the field.

Love the idea of having Peters come in and solidify the LT position while Tyron is out. Tyler will get to learn from 2 future HOF'ers with Peters and Tyron Smith. That's a good thing.

Give the ball to ZEKE a few times to justly that we ran the ball and why we're paying him all that money. Wr screens, can't get anyone open because ALL CURL ROUTES are covered, so we dump it off to Shultz, and our to the sidelines bootleg play incomplete pass!! Pretty easy to me

(sigh) ...A lumbering Zeke, Kellen's oft-used WR screens, .bootleg to Schultz, .....All of this sounds very much like 2nd half season offensive woes and failures.... :(

Radio boys, incl Broaddus, are pretty certain that Peters wouldn't be able to help you much in week one.

Not sure how one would make that assessment from the outside, but okay.

Week 1 it is going to be Tyler Smith at LT and Connor McGovern at LG. They are looking at Peters now in case that setup doesn't work. If Smith and McGovern struggle week 1, then they will sign Peters. I think they are jusst getting ahead of a potential problem. If Smith plays well against the Bucs, I think they won't sign anyone.

I could be wrong about this, but I think Peters will not sign to be a backup. I think is he signs he will play or he will just retire.
