He got paid and wanted to worry about after football. He could have been training and watching tape and studying…

i don't ever bash a player for worrying about life after football. they all should be doing that from the college level via education and in the pros via investments. The game is too brutal and takes too much a toll not to.

Smart guy....he worked Jerry for a big payday but he’s not the first nor the last to accomplish that.

His stop & start speed (too many steps) is still way off. Add that to his lack of football instincts, I just don’t see a comeback. At least at this moment, he has to get better.

And with all the off field hate (business activities), I am not understanding it, because if he didn’t do it, he’ll be broke. I think it was a good decision.

For me I don’t blame him either but you could tell he slid backwards. Needed to train and study at that point in his career. He came back from a bad injury. Could have learned the game more and played longer and made more money..

One can argue that, but can you really blame him taking advantage of what his situation was? I would have done the same as would you have
Never would I blame him. But he had the money and could have waited to do what he did. Train and learn the game and gotten paid way more than what he is making now. I heard part of his contract was JJ allowing him to put cryo business in the star. Gonna make him a little money. But playing would make him millions..

He had enough physical ability to have remained in the NFL but he was a very dumb player on the field.

In college his overwhelming physical ability offset his lack of instincts and lack of football knowledge.

After the injury he longer had that uber athleticism to compensate for a low football IQ.

His athleticism in college was Parsons-ish but Parsons probably had more football knowledge in High School than Jaylon has now.

If he had not injured his knee, where would he likely have been drafted given his weakness in the mental aspect of the game? And where should he have been drafted?

For sure. But I think it can be heavily assumed that he went over board and checked out a bit on his prep for the nfl grind. There were rumors that he was using the star to have business meeting during the season after his extension.

His fall from grace was drastic and I have to wonder if a large part of it was due to him wanting to focus more on his businesses than the next opponent.
