I can't rightly recall exactly when I became a fan, just born into it really. My first Cowboys hero was Walt Garrison, he was a Cowboy and a cowboy, he was tough and he was funny, still remember those old Skoal commercials. For Christmas when I was in 1st grade I got a football and a Walt Garrison tshirt/jersey, one of my greatest gifts ever. I wore the heck out of that sucker, eventually full of holes and tears until it practically disintegrated off me.

“Hi, I’m Walt Garrison, and I don’t smoke…”

From a ranch house outside of San Antonio Texas watching on a tiny fuzzy black & white tv while my brother was wrapped in half a roll of aluminum foil, acting as a human antenna, this was the game that got me infected and affected for life.

Come on Reality, you start a thread that you think will be interesting and want everybody's participation and are not telling us your story.

Didn't expect all these old guys did you it's okay if you've only been a fan for 15 minutes we will just put you at the kids table and continue to ramble on about vintage Cowboys stuff that we wish the younger folks could have seen.

I thought it would be interesting for everyone to share when they became a Cowboys fan.
Went to my first game Nov 17, 1969. We played the Saints and won 33-17. $1 to sit in the endzone. Got autographs from the players as they came out of the locker room after the game. I have been hooked on the Cowboys ever since.

My dad used to tease me about that game. They would show that clip over and over again. He made me watch a game that I had no concept of, being so young. I just wanted to play with my sisters. But he was teaching me to be a man. In 67, I was only 3 years old, but in our household, some things you remember.

lot of old people on this site....when you become a fan early 70's you are not young...me 1971...old as the hills and twice as dusty.....but still kickin'
I became a fan in 1965. Lived through when they were saying Landry couldn't win the big one. That went on from late 60's until they won their 1st Super Bowl in the 1971 season.

Early 80's when the NFL began being screened in the UK. Probably 1984 if memory serves me. It started with a 1 hour highlights show of the previous weekends games, screened at 1 in the morning on a Thursday. This quickly became unsatisfying so my brother bought a longwave radio and we listened to live commentary on armed forces radio broadcasting to Europe. We never knew which game it was going to be until it started so it was always a cause for celebration when it was the Cowboys. To think now that we can watch 5 live games every week on Sky TV . Different world.

Wow, exactly the same for me! Listening to AFN Europe was a godsend.

..the same year, Dwight Clark made the catch. I wanted revenge from that day on.

I endured super bowls 10 and 13 and have hated pissburgh (that city doesn't even deserve to be capitalized) ever since. Super bowl 30 didn't erase the hate.

1982 , first year NFL aired in UK.

We used to have a 1 hour show on Sunday evening where we'd get to watch the PREVIOUS weeks games lol.

Anyway, the first time I watched I saw Butch Johnson doing his dance and voila I was a cowboys fan.

Came from England to Canada in 1994, was a supporter of Manchester United at the time as a 10 year old. Fell in love with the triplets team, saw them lose to San Fran but win the SB in 95. Didn't think back then that would be the last time that deep nearly 30 years later....

Early 90s. Maybe 91-92. I was at our elementary school book fair, saw and Aikman poster and thought the uniforms looked cool. That’s it, and I’ve been a cowboys fan ever since. Good or bad. lol
