We weren't good enough before we signed him to have his signing not improve this team. I just don't see needing him on the field at LT. That would mean Tyler Smith didn't work out there.
To me it means McG does not work out at G, which we all know he wont.

All this talk about Peters is a bit of a slap in the face to Tyron - JMO

I’m both scared and excited to sit down and watch Sunday Night’s game. More than any season I can remember, I have NO IDEA what to expect from this team. I haven’t seen anybody play.

I've been like that for 20 years with this team. I find it much more enjoyable.

I'm assuming he means, "better than we were ince Tyron was injured".

Yeah, I understand that.
Usually I get pumped the week before, but this year, I was, well ok, it is about to start. But after the 1st game last night, now I am feeling, come on game time get here.
however, as usual, right before the game, not seeing the real team play yet. I will be ... dang, hope they don't play horrible ...

I think Peters is a very good fit for Tyler. To me, they are very similar type players and Peters, coming off playing tight end, really had to learn how to be an NFL offensive lineman. Tyron is more like Larry Allen IMO, a bit of an athletic freak who's harder to learn from because normal linemen can't do what they do. Tyler might be more in that athletic freak category, as is Peters to some degree, so I don't want to take away from them. I just don't think Tyron can teach other linemen to just do what he does because very few are like Tyron.

Yes, Tyron is a physical freak but there have been times that I wondered about his football IQ.
- He really seemed to have far fewer mental errors back when Frederick was the OC.
- Frederick was the smartest player on the team and the loss of his intelligence on the field was as big as the loss of his physical ability.

The multiple reports of Peters helping Tyler does make you wonder why we didn't hear that about Tyron helping Tyler.

On the flip side regarding football IQ, Micah Parsons has it. Yes, he's a freak athlete, but his football IQ for a rookie was outstanding.

On the low end, La'el was might have been the dumbest player on the team in 2021.
- He continued to make some really dumb mistakes, especially in run blocking.
- Steele showed better football IQ than La'el despite being a 2nd year player.

Tyron is a quiet type. Like Larry Allen, he's never sought out media attention and doesn't really even like talking to them. It's possibly that he hasn't done anything to help out Tyler, but I think it's more likely that he just hasn't done anything to draw attention to it. Some also teach more by example than with words.

I think Witten was the same way with the tight ends. Some have made it seem like he didn't want to help the other tight ends, but I think he was more do as I do than do what I say.

Peters has always appeared to be the type who's not afraid to share his opinion, even if it isn't asked for. Some players learn better from that type than the ones who just want them to do as they do.

Also, since Peters is new in the scene, it's going to be reported more readily than if Tyron did it.

It’s going to be frustrating on offense.

Same. It seems like every new season all my football buddies ask the same question, "What do you think your Boys are going to do this year?". The answers have varied, but this year is an honest "I have no idea. Absolute zero idea of what this team is going to look like".

How often does the coach say “we’re now worse” just after a free agent signing?
