Kellen Moore is holding the team back

Kellen is so bad. It's one thing to get pass happy - even Sean McVay is guilty of that. But the difference between McVay (and other top playcallers) and Kellen is that they know how to scheme and get WRs open. We can blame the lack of WRs all we want but between Lamb, Schultz, and the RBs, you still have enough weapons capable of doing more than what they showed last night.

You also pair that with Dak, who is not able to run an offense himself and make the necessary changes at the LOS compared to the elite QBs and it's a bad combination.

The West coast offense is designed to make the defense run from sideline to sideline. Did you see any play calls attacking the edges? Any wide receiver screens? Any jet sweeps? Any throws to the running back in the flat? Yeah you saw all of that...from the Bucs.

Does Moore even know what the offense is designed to do? Are is Dak just not attacking the edges? All of those throws over the middle, early in the game, felt forced. Loosen the defense up for Pete's sake. I could do a better job calling plays than Moore.
This isn't the WCO. It's Garrett's old stale Coryell variation. As @Aven8 said, they "had" to keep it because Dak is BFFs with Kellen and they didn't want Dak to have to learn a new offense. This is why MM said usually he teaches his offense but this time he was the one who had to learn a new one.

It all goes back to the Joneses coddling Dak and believing that players are what really matter, not coaches. Totally dysfunctional.

Wow! In one of the earlier interviews MM gave he said they were going to run the west coast. But, he was forced to keep Moore and I guess they kept the Air Coryell. Because I'm not seeing the west coast in our play calling.

Nevertheless, if you want to be a run first offense, then the QB needs to be under center quite often. Because, a running can set up deeper and read the line better, when a QB is under the center. So, if you want to be a run first offense and still play the Air Coryell, then you need a taller quarterback to read all of those option routes. Coming from under center and reading the option routes is tough as heck for a shorter quarterback, IMO.

So, Jerry is imposing his will on head coaches, instead of letting the coaches coach. No wonder Bill Parcells left.

Stay out of the mix Jerry.

I remember that interview as well. It was when he was newly hired. Than he came out and said Kellen was staying on and call plays because it worked so well the year before, “because Dak was comfortable”. Myself, @Chocolate Lab , @CATCH17 and many others were up and arms about this as that offense has always been our undoing and were excited to see another offense. Tony Romo was made for the WCO the way he could roll out. Dak could do it too.

Just so posters know we have been running the same offense for the past 14-15 years! Linny/JG/Moore….all variations. It can put up lots of yards but can fall apart if everything isn’t perfect.

After 10 years we finally got rid of JG and of all things we kept the same stale offense…..

So his solution is to throw it 50 more times? lol. Run. The. Ball.
Oh, ohhh. Zeke is averaging five yards a carry, let me pull him out and start passing a lot.

Oops...Pollard missed a block and now Dak needs surgery. Damn good decision making right there.

If you ask me they should just run Pollard into the flat instead of making him pick up blitzers.

Moore is sold as a creative mind in the mold of McVey or Shanahan, but he’s not. Creative coaching invents ways to do what you normally do while making it look like something else. That’s not Moore.

Kellen Moore will never be great. Of course he’s hurting the team. He sucks. But he isn’t alone.

Glad the Moore man crushes are finally seeing the light. There's so many in here that thought he was the 2nd coming. I won't mention names. You know who you are.

Moore tried a half dozen BS gadget trick plays and all we get is a FG.
I don't even think the offense got to the red zone.
Maybe things will improve, but....

Kellen Moore is killing this team. He always gives up on the run game way too early, even when the passing game isn't working.

McCarthy, the offensive mastermind, just sits on his *** and does nothing. It's clear the FO didn't value the offense. You have a patchwork offensive line consisting of exactly 1 NFL caliber player, 1 NFL wide receiver, and you expect results? The thing is rotten from the top down.
McCarthy has been told not to interfere.....he said as much last year.

FO values money. they are really good at making money. they are not good at building a competitive NFL team.

We had the #1 offense last year...because of Kellen.

Last might was horrible because of 2 reasons...

1. Lack of talent to work with...

2. No preseason work....

You can point this finger @ whoever made the dumb decision to sit all the starters in the preseason.

Fact is....this team just wasn't ready to play.

Add in all the penalties....

Fact the NFL goons hate us.....

This outcome was pretty predictable...
Actually, we had the #1 offense last year in part because we played some poor teams in NFC East. Dak padded stats against bad teams.

We also had to play more open throttle because our defense was not able to shut down opposing teams. How teams are forced to play matters.

yeah been saying for awhile now kellen isnt ready to be an OC, but now with rush or whoever lets see how he does.
If he cant win some games with a bkup, that will show something, or maybe he will , who knows.
They should try for Jimmy G, but he would cost more than stephen will want to spend.
