Was just wondering if anyone knew the real MO of Stephen. National media portrays Stephen as this VP with his finger on the pulse, and the real shot caller of the team who is heavily involved in the day to day. I was surprised to hear by some in the dfw media that he actually is pretty lazy and not involved with the team as much as he would like people to believe. I remember Jeff Cavanaugh saying something to the effect that he peddles the same rhetoric because he really doesn’t know what’s going on and just shows up when he needs to show up.

I was wondering if anyone has heard the same thing about Stephen. The more this team goes into despair the more I’m prone to believe the latter.

The VP of Personnel didn't think it wise to bring in a vet FA until after Tyron inevitably got hurt. Does that sound like someone with his finger on the pulse?

The guy has a job because of his last name. Nothing more.

He also treats the salary cap like its his personal bank account.

The Jones boys posed for a family picture recently. I was able to get a copy of same to post here.

One the left is Jethro (GM) and on the right is Little Anus (President of Player Personnel.)

2022 will be a great year with these experts in charge of the franchise. Just gaze at the intelligent looks on their faces.

He's just like his father, dude. It's called "Maximizing Shareholder Value". Keep the Customers (Sucker's) on the hook for as long as possible while filling the
family's bank accounts. The value of his business in 10billion and growing each year. He's laughing at ya sucka!!!

He really does treat the salary cap as if they are dipping into his back account which essentially they are but jeeesh. I really think this team is doomed with him eventually taking over.

I hope he doesnt take over. I really hope its some twisted joke.

Or he is bright enough to hire a GM so he can go live out his days on his yacht lol.

But yeah he treats the cap as if its his bank account and holds onto dollars that arent really his. Its weird.

That’s my only hope too. But I think his ego is as big as daddy’s and he’s cheap also so he won’t want to hire someone and spend money on something he thinks he can just do.

Yeah. But he also seems scared of people. Which is why he gets destroyed in any negotiation.

So I think he will bend to the will of angry fans.

He's the real life Spaulding.

Caddyshack or Castaway version. Take your pick. It's the same.

*EDIT* Just occurred to me that the volleyball was named Wilson, not Spaulding. Still feel like this is a good analogy though.

From your lips to gods ears because I dunno if I can take him in the same capacity as his daddy. And I don’t think the fans will either. Jerry is real charming so gets away with a lot, Stephen is a dolt and fans won’t buy his BS.

When Jerry goes I guarantee you Stephen will take over. He's been in training for this for years and while Jerry may have final say there's no doubt in my mind he has real influence in the draft/FA process. Probably ingrained in his mind that he is the rightful GM of this team once Jerry is gone. Probably promotes Will McClay to his old spot(BS title) and that's that.

LMAO! He totally is.

im trying to think of an instance when the owners son wasn’t a complete screw up and actually ran the business better than their father. I don’t think I can name one.

Lets just cut to the chase
He ain't a GM
He will be Jerry version 2 within a decade
Will he take the BIG step that's needed and employ outside the family(GM)
Or will he groom a Jones family / relation Jnr to follow him around and eventually become his number 2.

The dude was willing to fight his dad to keep him from signing Deion Sanders is all you need to know.
We were short a pro bowl cornerback when Kevin Smith tore his Achilles week 1 vs the Giants. It was a no brainer for Jerry to sign Deion at that point and Stephen was still against it.
Penny pinching would've cost us a Superbowl in 95-96 and young Stephen was trying to convince Jerry to go in another direction because of the cap. Smh
