Problem is, when does the noise actually reach the Jones' boys? When does the media start hounding on this FO? As somebody else mentioned earlier in the thread, all the Cowboys' local media always tiptoe around and make sure not to upset the billionaire owner. The media needs to dangle this FO over the fire.

The fans need to be heard. Start booing at games. Start wearing paper bags over your heads at games. Stop buying tickets. Stop buying merchandise.

It seems like for all the frustration this fanbase has endured, it just keeps being status quo.

Because we have a bunch of country club, casual fans that show up to the games to party and have a social event.

Real fans aren't the problem. It's the bandwagon notoriety that kills us.

The main problem is the Jones have no idea how to evaluate talent so they don’t know what their moneys worth even getting players in FA

They don't evaluate the talent, though. They tell their personnel people this is what we are willing to do and then they have to go out and try to find players who fit those constraints. The Joneses didn't evaluate Jayron Kearse before we signed him to a cheap deal last year. Likewise, they haven't evaluated any of the other bargain signings. Jerry may have grabbed a few shiny trinkets that he just couldn't resist over the years, but he and Stephen have little to do with who we bring in other than that the players have to fit our FA philosophy, which sucks and makes it extremely hard for the personnel men to find any worthwhile FAs.

They're incompetent football people. Saying they don't try to win is giving them a pass for this incompetence.

They've been running their off seasons this way for almost a decade now. It's gone largely unnoticed. This year drew attention because they lost some key talent.

It's hard for me to believe the Jones boys thought they could improve on last season but putting a lesser team on the field. But I'm starting to warm up to it.

The only thing they've done to actively improve the team was trade for Cooper. But that wasn't an off session move. It was out of desperation due to a bad offseason. This is why people think they're not trying to win. But you might be right.

Never going to happen. And even if it did Jerry will scapegoat the player. “The fans are passionate, they want to see better production, and frankly so do I.” I can hear it now.
all their talk has been empty rhetoric. They aren’t running a football team they are running a brand. Stephen’s always been cheap but it’s interesting to me how he got to Jerry. Jerry always was a spender and now he won’t spend on a position even if it’s necessary.

Well in the last 2 home games fans threw things at Dak and the refs. I don't condone that or respect it but it shows me the fans are feeling very frustrated and are getting more aggressive. Again what I'm about to say is not something I want to have happen or condone it. But what I feel would reach the Jones boys would be if the fans took out their frustration on the stadium. If that precious stadium got damaged by some out of control fans. That temple of narcissism reflecting Jerry's ego was attacked then that might reach the Jones. Again I want to point out that I am not for this, condone or hoping it happens, but I think that might be something that would rattle them. That may show them the fans have had enough after 26 years of BS. One thing I do feel strongly about is I don't want aggressive, angry fans doing anything to any players, refs or other fans. Throwing things at an object that doesn't feel pain is a step up from hurting people with families, feeling and lives.

But this the angriest I've seen the fans since 87 or 88 when a psychopath threatened Tom Landry that if Dallas kept losing he would get shot. Landry was getting death threats. And to the point on a home game that we were losing Landry had to be escorted to the locker room by security before the game ended because it was obvious we would lose. That's the only time in my 47 years of watching the Cowboys that someone's physical safety was at risk because of poor play. Now were back to that with the throwing stuff at people. I'm sickened it's come to this.

I hear you all but what I have seen so far is the mistake the Joneses made was overpaying average talent. They should have given Dak two franchise tags and let him walk. Made Zeke play out his 5 years. Tag Lawrence twice and let him walk. These guys have one a total of one playoff game together in 6 years. I think the Cowboys have learned there lesson. They franchised Shultz and will not sign him to a big contract. I would make CeeDee play 5 years, Diggs should play 4 years and get the tag. Even Parsons needs to win me some playoffs games. These guys need to earn their extensions. The bank is closed!!!!!!

Interesting how I have yet to see one comment that disagrees with Spears' position. Where are all the so-called 'homers' to defend Jerry & Co? While some may defend Dak, Zeke, etc. I think we finally found something that everyone can agree on: the Dallas Cowboys are not America's Team anymore and they have sucked for over a quarter of a century.

The problem is we don’t have the over all talent. If we had DT we would win playoff wins. We played Sunday and the bucs line was weak from injury in the middle. Imagine having the push we need. We never have a great Offense and a good Defense. And good ST. We are always lacking. One way or another. Most SB winners have good 2 out of the 3. Even back when Romo was playing. When it’s descent across the board the QB will have one of those games. Or we will get in our own way. That’s coaching.

The good news is most fans are waking up to this as well. The Cowboys are not trying to win a Super bowl. They're trying to make more money.

This season is going to blow up in Jerry's face and it's going to be almost as fun as having a Super Bowl contender...to me at least. Just sit back and enjoy. This has been a long time coming.

I hope you are right.

I prepared enough popcorn months ago just to watch this.

They overpay average talent ? The team is required by the CBA to spend a minimum amount of cap dollars. They have to pay somebody. The problem is that the Jones boys are not very good at evaluating talent on their own roster, let alone the rosters of other teams. They don't make the effort bc their jobs are not on the line and the money keeps rolling in. Why spend the offseason reviewing tape and taking a sober look at the roster when it means having to confront your previous mistakes? Its easier to just take that 250M yacht to the carribean and hang out with the kids and grandkids. We literally have the laziest and most dysfunctional front office in the league. They aren't even trying.

Marcus is right. But he's just stating the obvious points we make on this board daily. What unusual is that he's doing it with a national media platform. Not many dare to go at the Jones boys directly for fear of retribution.

They listen to McClay for the draft so why not just let him do the whole job. Missing Von Miller was no excuse. Peters was descent pick up. Not getting a better WR was dumb and a set up for people to fail or the GM/Owner is really that dumb. Or arrogant.

JJ is to old and SJ is to cheap. Hire some people and set back and watch the games. But JJ has to be in the middle of it.

Yep, making football decisions based on the personality of the player is hardly professional.

See that gets into the front office politics. If McLay tells Jerry that we need to replace Amari with another big name #1 WR, he would also be admitting that drafting CD was a mistake. Afterall, you don't draft a WR that high in the draft unless he's going to be "the guy" one day. I think most people who work directly for Jerry in the FO have realized that the key to keeping their jobs is to never admit mistakes and always assign blame to the coaching staff. . All those guys want to do is get along with Jerry, stroke his ego, and collect their pay checks. McLay could have been an NFL GM years ago. But he chose to stay for the pay check and the cush job. So, i'm not convinced him or anyone else in that front office has much ambition.

Yep, just making the team relevant every season will sell tickets and merch is good enough for the Brand. Keep paying 3/4 Stars (regardless of performance) so long as they sell jersey's.

This Dak situations with the IR is already being called out as a financial and not football decision.

Hard to say, but we need to fail before we improve. Lets be honest we need to evaluate the roster, tank this season, trade CD or Dak (they are just not compatible), trade Zack whilst he has value.....but we wont (or can't without a proper GM) we'll continue to do the same, bare minimum and sell the hope of next season.

Lamb could be the best slot WR ever. He is not a true #1. I thought we would let Gallup walk and keep Coop until Coop started pouting. They aren’t having people evaluate other teams players. Lamb could be a #2. Not sure even with Gallup back he can be more than a 2. We let it ride with the rookies and Brown. I wish we kept Cedric. Dak never had a chance without Moore running the ball. And Moore won’t stick with it.

It’s not going to blow up in his face because there is no one to keep him accountable. Fans have to stop buying merchandise and tickets, the media has to hold his feet to the fire. neither will happen. 105.3 talks a big game when ownership isn’t around, but once they get on the phone with him it’s all rainbows and unicorns.
We have already seen this over the last several years. Cowboy fans are not filling that stadium. Opposing team fans are buying more and more tickets. Jerry doesn't care as long as someone buys the ticket.

Pretty simple folks. All we have to do is have Cowboy fans start showing up to home games with bags over their faces and let that be shown on TV during our 4 remaining prime time games. That hurts the Cowboys reputation and that hurts Jerry's bottom line (aka revenue). Jerry isn't dumb. When that starts happening he will open the wallet and perhaps hire a true GM. PS. Let Irvin show up pre-game wearing a bag over his head. Now, that will send a message to management.
