correct CD in the slot is much better than CD on the outside. He is not a blazingly fast or sure handed possession receiver , his game is catch the ball in slant and YAC to make big gains.

Gallup will be definitely useful, we should try turpin and Simi atleast as decoys to pull the safeties and hit CD in the middle.

I'll add to that argument by pointing out an additional problem. We don't really have a 1 WR unless we're counting on Tolbert, a rookie, or Simi (a 6th round pick). Gallup and CD are 2 and slot WRs respectively. This is important because, when a QB goes through his progressions, he has to know who his 1 is, and all the rest of it. In normal cases, that's obvious. With us, we are literally relying on Simi atm to do that as Dennis Houston, a UDFA, is a slot as well. This roster was incredibly poorly constructed, and we are seeing the results of Jerry being cheap and not doing things properly. He may have just lost a franchise QB if Dak gets hurt again this season. His track record, besides Romo and Dak, with starting QBs is downright putrid.

The thing is, I'm still not convinced that it's entirely Dak's fault that things seem bleak. It's why I had a thread about how Jerry's past errors show that he tends to not think through potential disasters and plan for them. I shall once more mention about Tyron Smith and Cooper. Tyron hasn't completed a full season in about half a decade. May be even more. Dak, like most QBs, struggles when his best LT is out as that protects the blindside. Just as importantly, our LG spot has been a sore spot for a while. Connor Williams was terrible there. Jerry didn't have the foresight to understand that these could be a problem and could lead to his biggest investment struggling and breaking down. Unless we fix the LT and LG spot (Peters and Smith might very well be fixes), then Dak need not return as he's likely to face further injury. The problem with the Peters idea, as good as Peters is, is that he is only a bandaid on a cannon wound that's been building for years. Had Jerry been on top of this, we could've had replacements and depth a while ago to prevent this issue.

Similarly, the WR spot is a mess. CeeDee Lamb is a good WR......if hes used as the 2 or slot WR. He's never a 1WR, but Jerry thought he was. This, we don't have much at WR to throw to. Not even an elite QB would succeed with this. Look at how Rodgers struggled against the Vikings. If he couldn't succeed with the WRs stripped bare like that, what chance does Dak or a rookie have?
Jerry's lack of ability in roster building has not done any favors for Dak, that's for sure.
Don't understand paying your qb big bucks and not doing anything to support him.

Romo and dak fell into Jerry's lap.
That won't happen again.
It will force Jerry to change.

Exactly, and it's why I argue repeatedly against drafting a QB unless it's necessary. It's not going to magically solve the problem. Patrick Mahomes couldn't make the sad assortment of supposed WRs and oline that we have functional. I know Dak isn't elite, but Jerry is absolutely draining what talent Dak has had and is able to work with. Instead of adding to what we had, Jerry's stripped the talent away, and he's told Dak to make the best of it. That's not right, and Jerry bloody knows it.

That's the problem. I don't think it will. Unless Jerry gets lucky again, we might be stuck with Brandon Weeden or Paxton Lynches in the future as those are Jerry's idea of QBs. Problem is, they need an online, and Jerry hates that because it doesn't bring him money, despite that being how we move the ball, and he bloody well knows it.

I believe fumble snap was in the WC game, so we would have been going to divisional round if we won....

There was still around a minute and a half left when they fumbled that snap. Dallas could have won. But I recall not being confident that Dallas could have prevented Seattle from getting into fg range.

Jerry has been able to get away with being a below average GM because of two things:

Tony Romo
Dakota Prescott

He was gifted 2 decent QB's for basically the cost of a late 4th round draft pick.

This has covered over a lot of Jerry's horrendous GM decisions.

Now that Dak's play has fallen down to his limited ability, the team is gonna stink bad.

I am talking 5 and 11 Campo bad.

Jerry can smooth talk over a lot of stuff, but the results of his inabilities are going to show up

on the field where there will be no way he can spin it.

Maybe when we become a perennial loser on the field and are no longer " relevant"

He will change his ways.

Jerry is a proud man and if the product on the field falls below .500 and the National Media

does not care about the Boys anymore, hopefully he will make some meaningful positive changes.

it’s 17 games now not 16 .

So 5-12 *

Well that's going to involve winning two or three games. I'm rooting for it. Actually, I'm rooting for us to 0 - 17. We need it bad. I want to see Jerry covering his face whenever cameras are around instead of jumping in front of them and spewing endless diarrhea.
This!

the bengals will beat us
If the Giants beat us then the heat will increase significantly on Jerry with every game we lose and he won’t be able to shine this crap

I think the Bengals will likely win but there's a chance they'll take it for granted that they'll win and be looking forward to their next game already and the Cowboys sneak a win. It's happened to Dallas often enough in the reverse.

nope, they lost their first game that I’m sure they thought they would win against the Steelers. They’ll be on red alert

Playing Devils advocate. One could say Poor Jerry he's been strapped with some Mediocre QBs play, and has ruined all the talent he's drafted over there careers.

good point , those 2 and now include parsons as well, have kept the team relevant and have covered up a lot of the Jones boys ineptness .
