This front office and coaching staff is full of numbskulls.

They drafted Connor Williams and forced him to play Guard, even though he would have been better at playing either Tackle or Center due to his athleticism. They released him this offseason. Miami picked him up, made him their starting Center, and last Sunday he finished the weekend as the #1 performing Center to start the season. This same bunch of numbskulls have failed at properly rebuilding our Oline because they don't know who should start at what position, much less know who should be starting and who shouldn't.

They are making the same mistake with the receiving crew for the same reasons. Last Sunday, they started Armstrong at right DE and played him there most of the game. Armstrong was a complete failure who never once put any heat/pressure on or came close to Tom Brady, much less ever secured that right edge against the run. Sam Williams should have started and played there most of the game, but this group of coaches simply can't think properly for some weird reason.

Now, they are risking of losing John Ridgeway for their own incompetence. Good luck finding another big guy to plug in the middle if Ridgeway gets stolen and Bohanna suddenly suffers an injury. We will be back to having the middle of the D-line be our weakest point once again, especially against the run.

Ridgeway sucked.

Guy is slow, his feet are the slowest I've ever seen from any defensive lineman.

I've heard many times they were losing something like a million dollars a month before Jerry bought the team. That's probably an exaggerated figure, but I find it hard to believe they were #1 in revenue at that time.

Probably but we were the most popular team in the league before Jerry bought them, more fans than anyone else (America's team).
I was a fan at 8 years old living in Upstate NY Giants country, loved the Landry shift, Tony Dorsett and the star on the helmet and Danny White lol (ssshhhh)

Cowboys were on TV in NY in the early 80's more than the Giants. Dallas Cowboys were Iconic before Jerry and 27 years after their last NFC Champ appearance, they still lead the way.

Anyway Jerry is Al Davis II right now, needs to sit down and shut it

Given how they approached FA, it was clear they used the draft to fill need.

Using mid round picks for that purpose is pure stupidity. When are they ever ready to play and fill an immediate need?

Another major flaw in the Stephen Jones roster building strategy.
Nobody drafts for BPA anymore. teams usually have 3-5 key position needs and they may draft BPA within those needs, but nobody is just drafting BPA straight up. Really doesn't make sense to use that terminology anymore.

Gotcha.....but not what I meant.

Any team should expect to get one, maybe two starters out of any particular draft.

If you have a need at WR, and OT, don't use 3rd and 5th round picks and figure you're good to go. They almost definitely aren't ready to play just yet.

It's really not that bad considering:
You're worth 200 million and you have more fans than anyone else (the #1 brand)
and you're coming off a year where you were losing 2 million a month following the strike.

Jerry struck gold and delivered instant success with Jimmy Johnson and 3 SB's.

Since then: a 25 year **** show

Now a million a month isn't too bad, but Jerry paid a whole $140 million for the team. A million a month at that time was a Hell of a lot. He took a huge risk and turned it into the most valuable sports franchise in the world.

You can talk a lot of smack about Jerry, but if not for him, the Cowboys might not even exist anymore. They probably would, but possibly not.

If someone picks him up it will be because they loved him in college. He was atrocious in preseason and didn't show a thing. If you didn't know who he was, you'd think he was cheap camp fodder from a local school.

Still would like all those media people to explain how they kept pumping him up when it was clear to anyone paying any attention to camp that it was 1. Bohanna 2. Watkins 3. Ridgeway in the 1T pecking order.

It was the first time anyone had paid more than $100 million for a football team, and he paid $140 million. I don't know if your fandom figures are accurate, but it doesn't seem likely, considering they were losing that much money every month.

According to PFF, guess who was the highest graded center after week one.........you got it, Connor Williams. Not sure what to say .......

I argued over and over with @CowboyRoy how Connor Williams would have been much better if used at Center. Roy argued I was wrong about Connor Williams. Many others said the same.

After this past Sunday's performance, Father Time once again proves who was right.

The Dallas Cowboys were the #1 brand in the NFL before Jerry, he bought them at a big discount and brought them instant success with Jimmy Johnson, I applaud both moves.
It ended there, that was 27 years ago.

When you consider that he paid more than $40 million more than anyone had ever paid for a football team, I don't understand why you say he paid a big discount.
