Until next year when we draft a full time back to replace him. Pollard has a great role and doesn't need to get worn out with 25 carries a game.
Come on Raunchy. You know deep down inside that big heart of yours, that Pollard will be Elliotts replacement. Elliott's not worth $14 million a year. Especially when Pollard's numbers are better.

You know I’ve Never seen a “great” qb elevate average or below average WRs like you just said. Maybe you could give us many examples of this elevation you’re talking about.
Look at the trash Romo worked with. Mahomes isn’t having any problems. Brady worked with low end receivers for years, you figure it out., great receivers help no doubt but he has one so there shouldn’t be any problems but how soon you forget 2017 2018.

Cooper isn't here because he ruffled feathers and was on a high cost contract. Jones didn't feel they were getting their money's worth and didn't like how he conducted himself last year.

I don't have an issue with jettisoning Cooper, but we had to get more in return.

Pollard is a part time player. To small to be a full-time RB. He's great as a Hybrid. Why have him take that beating have to block OL men and wear him out like we did with Zeke? We can draft a good back next year for that.

How can Jerry keep saying we used Coopers salary to upgrade the pass rush and OL.

I'm not sure he is ready to accept Randy Gregory walked away.

Who did we sign that upgraded the OL? Peters? no. that was after Tyron was injured.

What is this man talking about
He himself does not know what he is talking about.

I'll always lump this into the bad decision and net loss category. Contracts can always be re negotiated.
Gave up a 1st to get him. He was a true #1 while here who impacted the entire offense's production. Not thrown to enough.

To criticize him publicly and trade him for a 5th will always be a bad decision and net loss.

So your answer is be like Tom Brady? And Mahomes has had multiple all-pro receivers to throw to his whole career. Romo’s receivers were trash? I can’t tell if this was even a half serious answer.

I’ve been following the Cowboys since 1972 and this was the worst move I’ve ever seen by the team. The jughead Joneses traded away one of the best receivers in the NFL who they gave up a first round pick for and who’s in the prime of their career for a measly fifth round pick. The Cowboys don’t have a receiver on this team that’s as good is Amari Cooper. Jughead Jerry claimed he got rid of Amari and two other players because of their lack of availability but turned around and re-signed Michael Gallup who missed most of last season with an injury. Lol Gallup has missed a number of games over his career. He’s already missed two games this season.

Jerry…did you apply this logic when signing the Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot contracts? Imagine the positional upgrades and depth you could have acquired. Of course you couldn’t help keeping your mouth shut and tell anybody who was listening you were planning on waiving him…oh yeah, and getting relatively NOTHING (a 5th round pick in exchange for a #1 pick) on your investment. And of course you had to pay Jaylon too!
You are such a blithering idiot…PLEASE PLEASE lose the power of speech and have somebody responsible hide your freaking checkbook!

Actually it’s roll over to take the sting out of the 49 million cap hit for Dak

There you go, it's Dak's .... $ ....
They can't keep pushing his money into future years.
At some point, you'll have to pay the toll says Charon (Ferrier of the Dead).
Jerry's devil deal still shining bright....

year...........base................prorated............guaranteed.......cap number......pre-June dead $
2023......$31,000,000......$18,130,000......$31,000,000......$49,130,000.......$89,070,000

Next year should be a make or break year for Dak.
**** or get off the pot !

Jerry, please let it ride and let the chips fall where they may.

Many on this board felt coop was overpaid when he was here because he disappeared or was banged up.

Appreciate what you have. Dude drew coverages like no one's business. And with the new wr contracts his contract now is solid value compared to what others make.

Restructuring his deal was the way to go, but it's understandable that Dallas didn't think he was worth $20 million. He didn't play like a $20 million receiver last year. What I dislike about the Joneses when they talk about these kind of moves is they make them seem like they are either-or. The real answer isn't that it was either keep Cooper or not make other moves. It's that they saw Lamb as their No. 1 and didn't want to pay both Cooper and Gallup starter money. Gallup was the cheaper option to be the No. 2 so they moved on from Cooper. They could have paid Gallup and Cooper but didn't want to do that.

You are thinking sensible GM , Jerry was miffed that Cooper defied the Covid stuff and was absent for a game because of it , it didn’t sit well with him in lieu of the salary he was paying. Bye Bye Coop
