During Sunday morning’s news round ups across the national space NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport noted that it is his understanding that the “earliest” Dak could return is October 16th on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles game in question is still three weeks from now; it is the Cowboys Week 6 matchup. At present time, Philadelphia seems like the top threat to take Dallas’ NFC East title from a year ago so it is obviously an important game, and therefore one where Dak Prescott will be needed.

“Dak Prescott will be needed” …dumbest statement in the history of pro football!

If this is true, why wasn't Dak placed on short term (4 weeks) IR? The extra spot could have been used to keep a recently cut player like John Ridgeway, especially now that Quinton Bohanna is questionable to play due to a banged up neck injury. Same should have been done to Connor McGovern with his high ankle sprain and Jayron Kearse with his leg injury. Poor team management.

Probably not the best game for him to return it’s going be a hornets nest in Philly. It’s going to be a real hornets nest in Dallas if he doesn’t play well. Philly is probably still ticked off at us for putting up over 50 with our starters against their backups in the season finale last year.

I will be surprised if he doesn't play vs Rams at the latest.

Figured that would be the game he'd return. Just hopping they can win 2 more games before then.

Game 6 on the road v. Eagles ...wait one more week to bring back Prescott in a home game with the Lions being the opponent.

Not good… he could track to be back the Eagles game… which means we’ll definitely lose that game if he comes back. The chances of us winning it were already low, but Dak coming back? Go ahead and write that one off. That is if Cooper Rush doesn’t take his job by then.

If they did that he wouldn't be able to practice or be on the field helping the other qbs. They were thin in the oline, they need McGovern to be back as soon as possible. He could be ready soon. Kearse could be back. Excellent team management. They know what they are doing.

Dak doesn't need to be on the field to help the other QBs. He could help them in the film room or from the booth through their mic'd helmets.
