Jerry would promote Quinn and probably keep Moore!

If the season doesn't end well I'd rather hire an offensive minded coach and a shift in philosophy on that side of the ball.
That philosophy needs a shift!!!

That philosophy needs a shift!!!

Jerry hired an offensive minded HC and still hands the reins to a guy with no experience! That shift should’ve happened then, and it should no doubt happen if they hire a guy like Peyton! But with the GM here, you never know!

Payton thinks he's a football HC god. His resume is identical to MM's. Including one SB each with a hall of famer quarterback. Only difference between the two, Payton has been in the NFL one year longer than MM. To top it off, he's a control freak in which players loathe.

If Jerry & him would have wanted it done, it would have happened soon as Payton left the Saints. Waste of time talking about it.

Anyone can see that he is a much better coach. Its his offensive creativity and abilities that separate him. And its not just with Brees. Its other players he has used uniquely and incorporated into his offenses. He has had Run have teams, pass happy teams, whatever the personnel dictates.

You pair him with a good DC like Quinn and its a match made in heaven. And if he wants his own DC, whatever he wants.

Put it this way.................Pollard would be a focal point of this offense. He would get the most out of Lamb.

It's no coincidence that this team hasn't done squat since Jimmy left. Switzer won with Jimmy's team. As long as Jones & Son is here, expect more of the same. Nobody can coach under this so-called ownership...

I would say Dolphins but they’d be dumb to bench Tua for a year so Brady can be owner/QB.

"The most important element is functional ownership [and] front office ... because there's a handful of teams that aren't, and those teams, regardless of what takes place, they can win on Sunday but they have trouble winning long term," he said. "The opportunity to win consistently and the willingness to build the correct culture and all those things."

In other words, he's not coming to Dallas.

Why would Payton, or any other respected coach for that matter, want to coach the Cowboys with such a meddling, egotistical, controlling and over-bearing blow hard like Jerry Jones? Every coach we have had with exception of Johnson and Parcells have had their nutz clipped by Jones, or never had them in the first place. As much as I want a fresh, innovative head coach who demands accountability from his players, I know we will never get one.

He hired Parcells so he could get the stayjum built.

Since then he’s hired Wade, Garrett and Big Mac. And all three of them let JJ do whatever he wants, when ever he chooses.

Interesting take on the Parcells hiring. Makes a consistent pattern. Jerry does what it takes to further the team's *financial* success, i.e., his own financial success.

Along those lines, funny that the Master Salesman couldn't sell Parcells on staying with a franchise QB and a franchise pass rusher. 2006 was a pretty good year for the Cowboys, leading to a better 2007. The Team That Parcells Built really was primed to do things.

Or perhaps that's one sale the Master Salesman wasn't interested in making. That would be consistent with your theory on why Parcells was brought here in the first place.

If you read the article Sean wants control that is never going to happen unless Jerry and his son are both not among the living.
Also, Sean is good but are you willing to give up draft picks to get him?
Lord knows we need every draft pick we have.

Sounds to me like the way the Texans' season is going they will be lucky to get a victory or two and will wind up with the No. 1 pick... they may be willing to turn over control, give him the money and let him grab his future QB himself. I know they just hired Lovie and paying him like $5m per. But they would be tempted roll the dice with Payton. I like Lovie and have no problems with him but he has been a disaster with the last teams he has coached----TB in the NFL 8-24.. .., and Illinois in college. 17-39.....very poor. Don't think he has a long leash in Houston.

Payton to Texans....calling it now. This is IF he is seriously considering coaching again, i have been skeptical about this since he quit due to burn out.

It is more likely to snow in Dallas on July 4th than for Jerry Jones to ever hire a top notch NFL coach who has full control of the locker room, hiring of assistants, and any other normal NFL HC authority.

He hired Parcells so he could get the stayjum built. Since then he’s hired Wade, Garrett and Big Mac. And all three of them let JJ do whatever he wants, when ever he chooses.

Unless JJ and SJ agree to change how this thing is run, expect the next Cowboys HC to be someone who agrees to let Jerry be Jerry. That won’t be Sean Payton.
Jerry is one heck of a salesman. The Big Tuna really believed that he had some control right up until Jerry signed “The Player”.

I have very little interest in Payton. I will not be fooled that a new coach will change things. I will not be fooled by the puppet master. Would McCarthy been my choice as coach? Not really. But I don't think he is awful. Until things change up top, not much will change here. Payton is a good coach. Great? Not sure. He had a good GM in New Orleans and had success. Not sure he would be much better than McCarthy here.

I'll take Quinn and laugh all the way to the super bowl
Quinn’s time as HC in Atlanta gets totally overlooked. He is a lot like Wade Phillips or Norv Turner, great at running one part of the team, but is horrible when trying to run the whole team.
