At what point do we seriously start to consider Rush as starter?

And clearly Dak is not good enough that he can just walk on the field and play at a high level. It is not an excuse -- it is recognizing Dak's limitations. He isn't a natural passer and so he will always need repetitions.

Bingo. That’s why most of Dak’s “haters” think he’s not worth his contract. He’s not a natural passer. He isn’t the answer.

I don't get the need to choose

i mean when dak got hurt this place said and i cant help myself we will be in trouble if we dont trade for a qb( Jimmy G huh) because rush is trash. now hes the next coming.? brown was trash, now hes jerry rice.. no way 73 couldn't hold down LT, now hes what? fans are trash opinions change byte millisecond.
I mean people have agendas. Anyone who makes this type of thread after that win where you won without a lot of key players? It reeks of someone upset we won so they jump on Dak.

You act like Dak makes a difference in these types of games lol.

He makes a huge difference. 6 of the 10 best games of his career came against teams that by your definition were “good”.

Again, Dak is asked to do so many things Rush isnt. That’s because you have to do those things to have a chance against good teams.

Rush clearly reads the field and makes decisions faster than Prescott.

If there is one thing that stands out watching Cooper Rush play it’s how slow Dak Prescott makes decisions.
So using that argument you must think Rush reads the field better than Joe Burrow.

None of that matters if you don’t have a QB who can stand in and read a defense. What we’re doing can work against average to bad teams when you have a good defense and running game. It doesn’t lead to long term success.

Rush is only going to end up playing one decent defense (the Rams) but we won’t beat them doing what we did the last two games. They have the athletes to eat up what we’re currently doing.
sure.

Daks a more talented player. But don't fix what isn't broke. If Rush continues to win, stick with him, regardless of how ugly it is
How is Prescott MORE talented?
What does he do that Rush can't?
What does Dak do that most QBs can't?
I'm not saying that Rush is the second coming of Montana, but Prescott has nothing on Rush.
Rush just looks like a more polished player.

It’s something to think about. Obviously, the Cowboys are winning without an elite QB. The bus driver of all bus drivers right now in Cooper Rush. Defense is playing at an elite level and the running game is effective. You just need a QB to make solid throws in the clutch and Cooper is doing that. Also, makes you realize how big of an issue Kelmo is at developing game plans and in-game strategy.

The best scenario for the team longer term would be for Rush to play against Washington (=win) then Prescott comes back and loses against the Rams and Eagles then he will pretty much be done. Do you stick with a QB that's 3-0 or 0-3?

I was on the forum under a different name back when Dak got the job from Romo I remember people had the same mentality about Dak that they did about Rush. It was like nah he's garbage and Romo will 100% be the starter when he's healthy. Probably some of the same people now are saying the same thing about Rush. When someone shows who they are believe it Dak has shown he can throw for a lot of garbage yards and TDs when down big making it look like he's a top 10 QB he's shown he can beat bad teams but when the money is on the line he has not shown much overall. In 2016 he did because he had the best OLine and RB and a good receiving core since then he's been up and down. We'll get more of that when he's back with no Amari and no Tyron Smith. When Rush looks like he can't handle the job give it back to Dak but until them they should ride with 3-0 but we'll get Dak and Rush will likely never start another game for the Cowboys he'll go to another team and we'll continue to never sniff the NFC Championship game.

Clearly? Based on eeking out this win over the Giants?

Dak has sliced and diced the Giants and the rest of the NFC East six ways from Sunday but one Cooper Rush win has people overdosing on the anointing oil. Amazing.

Right now. He’s the hot hand. Similar to 2016, you STICK with the hot hand. Players like Ceedee and Brown have clearly improved since Rush entered the game. No telling how much Gallup will improve when he comes in as well.

you don’t take out a winning starter. Rush will remain the QB1. He’s 3-0 as a starter.

I want to see Rush against the Rams.

Tonight was a 34-10 game if not for a blatant missed call in the end zone and a CeeDee drop. But this game and next are relatively easy wins. Let's see him against a true contender and try and keep pace with the Rams.

That's what Dak can't do, so let's just see.

The Cowboys quarterback of the future isn't here unfortunately, so might as well see.

Jerry has already answered this question. 10 wins in a row is the answer. But Cooper Rush won't get that opportunity. Dak will be back well before that.

Dak has a career QB rating of 94.6 against teams that finish the year with a winning record. Since 2016, only four guys are better in such games and all four will be in the HOF one day.

For perspective, Dak is better against teams with winning records than Lamar Jackson, Russell Wilson, Justin Herbert, Kirk Cousins, David Carr, Joe Burrow, Ryan Tannehill, Matthew Stafford, Matt Ryan, Jared Goff, Kyler Murray and Jimmy G.

I wonder what Daks QB rating is for the 1st 3 quarters of those games?..when we are usually behind by 14-21 points and then he gets nothing but defenses laying back in the 4th quarter where he pads his stats and makes a bit of a comeback only to fall short...

Rush gets the ball out quicker. Doesn't audible out of run plays as often. Appears to be more decisive. Small sample size.

I know many fans say last week, but seriously, he keeps winning and it might be a real question.

He keeps winning but his production isn’t very good and we’re struggling to score points. Granted we scored some in the fourth quarter but our offense overall has been pretty blah. He’s played solid and hasn’t turned the football over but he certainly isn’t what you want as your full-time starter. We’re winning games with our defense. As the season goes on and we start playing better teams we’re going to need more offense. Good luck beating some of the better teams and QBs in the league if Rush is only putting up 200 or so yards and one touchdown every week. We’re not going be able to play from behind with this offense. If we get down by two or more scores we’re going to be done!

If we're being realistic this is what it would actually take. Rush starts and wins a couple more games and looks solid. Dak comes back and struggles. It would still probably take another Dak injury and then Rush doing well again at that point but then it would likely become a serious thing.
