We couldn't even if we wanted too. Dak is taking a large part of the cap space and we couldn't afford paying 2 QB's top dollar. Bad enough we are overpaying for a mediocre QB now.
I'm not talking about top dollar..the guy is making vet minimum.

Give him some guaranteed money and some security so we don't have to worry about it anymore.

It's ok, save your time. If you believe he isn't worth the contract (other than the obvious that NO ONE is worth their contracts), then you are just another delusional Dak hater.

If Dak played like Coop yesterday, there would be 20 threads on the front page with how he is trash and a backup.

Didn’t take long for you to regain your usual form

if a 7 year veteran making 40 million a year can’t do better than an UDFA with 3 starts, he should be criticized

what’s so hard to grasp about that? Seriously.

I was very wrong about him. I thought he was a complete trash QB and we had a horrific QB situation behind Dak that would be a disaster if they ever had to play for any amount of time.

This guy has proven he is what you want in a backup qb. Give us a chance to win, not limit the offense, and actually play well in crunch time.

I would extend him now to a competitive backup QB salary and lock him up for a few years so we don't have to worry about it anymore.
nah expose him on the PS and when not taken have fans say hes trash so i say put him back on the PS where fans say he should be.. we remember

He has in every way for 7 years. Again, the moving of the goalposts in evaluating Cooper is hillarious.

Suddenly the microscope gets put away and we are praising him for anything that happens. Comical.

I said we would be fine with himn and that al we have been , hes not starter nor should he take daks job. he is exactly what I thought he was, a bus driver who deos Just Enough and doesn't mess it up,,i was one that said Jerry was doing the correct thing when he stayed with Rush and Grier who know our offense and timing of when daks coming back..

go look im a homer and Jerry Lover, im a sheep LMAO.. what i am is realist Im blind i drink the jones kooliad. that what i was told when i supported the decision to go with RUSH. Apparently many decisions in the offseason have all worked out, so far.

biggest thing i see during the last 2 weeks in MOORE he calls a very different game for Rush then he does for Prescott. there run heavy and balance. for some reason he seems to just call mostly pass pays for Dak and allows dak to audible into run if it looks better.

Daks A far better qb then rush But Moore needs to call the game the same way and Dak and this team will be better off. Daks better, period, and deserves his job back. that why, the national media's saying, the coaches are saying it,

and ALL SANE fans not wearing dak Hate goggles would say, dak should get his job back... hes clearly a better qb...

hes had far better win streaks. jeez how about 11, 6, 3 in 2019 and in 2018 that late run what 5 in a row? i mean do we have a bunch of fans with selective memory. Nothing Rush has done has been impressive with the exception hes not messing it up, Hes doing just enough. that great we found out the coaches and owner KNEW Rush was the best choice and did have plan at WR, OL, and Defense. Even Maher was the best choice.

all this love for player(s) most here came out and said Rush is trash and we were DONE when dak went down unless we traded for a better qb.. Noah browns was called trash they wanted smith or Vasher, Tyler 73 wouldn't hold up and shouldn't thbe the LT they wanted some expensive vets left over , Jerry had NO plan, Maher worst ever choice, and we wouldn't win another game this season.

HEY MODS can you go back after daks injury week one and please PIN all those posts back up and highlight and call out every zoner who said those things and now are flipping their opinion and now are saying the opposite. hypocrites.

go pin mine i said rush would be the best choice because he knew the offense and dak would be back before you could get anther qb ready to play.
odd how narratives get busted.

so now Dak comes back and pays the better teams lie he did with the Bucs now maybe rams eagles B2B and will be under fan microscope. they are clearly better then Bengal's, giants and commanders..

so now the morons will say look we took rush out and lost and will claim they are right.
thats not how it works..

Dak will be playing better teams, period. he give us the best chance to win those games because we will need MORE Offense and Rush is don't screw it up a Bus driver.. most underwhelming production at qb, which is fine but we will need MORE offense and daks the qb to do it on our roster. win or lose its the best decision and im getting tired head having to wake up fans with moronic statements about how Rush should keep the job.

if you do not know or agree, well, you are clueless.

You’re the one starting this thread praising him…..sorry but this thread is turning on its originator because we know you’re bitter about Coopers leading this team right now…..and leading successfully

Ken was wrong on QB play.. what a surprise..

Let’s make a post to try and save face and look unbiased, as I’ve already dedicated so much of my time embarrassing myself trying to defend Dak’s play..
Yes, what an egregious faux pas....i misevaluated a backup qb based on him doing absolutely nothing in camp and preseason.

If only i could evaluate how a qb looks under center like you do.

One thing to consider before elevating Rush to "better than Dak" status is that as the backup, he gets to have more reps with the backup receivers than with the starters. I think we saw this with the connection with Noah Brown and Hendershot this game.

Once Gallup and Schultz are back we might not see the same connection with them. It appears Dak won't be out for an extended period longer (though I'm not certain he's really only a couple of games away from returning), so Rush won't have a lot of games as the starter with Gallup and Schultz.

Another thing to consider is that a lot of complaints about Dak is inaccuracy, and we saw a lot of that with Rush as well - high throws, behind the receiver throws, etc. That might be inexperience that will improve, which is what I believe, though the lack of super arm strength may limit his ability to some degree.

People also complained about Dak being a "bus driver", but Rush's stats in the last 2 starts are textbook "bus driver", 1 td per game, about 250 yds and 63% completions. Funny how winning a couple of games can make "bus driver" quarterbacks suddenly the greatest thing since sliced bread.

To this point we have to be be pleased, winning trumps all, but 3 games won is hardly enough to make final determinations as to how good he can be...

I agree with this.

The game has been called completely different. This is how the game should be called even when Dak comes back. I am fine with Dak being a bus driver, I think he would excel at it. Dak has been successful with the entire offense on his shoulders (i know the qb clueless will disagree) but it is not a winning football approach. It puts more strain on the defense, it leaves you open to more turnovers and it doesn't control the clock.

2014 Romo was a bus driver and almost won MVP. Let's get back to that.

I am praising him....as a back up.

He is what you want in a backup when you have a franchise qb.

that's part of the point but Daks better than a bus driver and when called upon he is better than rush at making plays when we need MORE scoring. Rush is who he is and its his ceiling, issue is that all he is.

Dak can drive the bus but when needed he can make more plays. if fans do not get that, well again. clueless.

Um, I don't see 3,700 yards, nearly a 70% completion rate, 34 tds and 9 ints being a "bus driver". If that's the case we'd better acknowledge Aikman as the king of bus driver quarterbacks, his best year he had only 23 tds or something like that.

Perhaps we have different definitions of "bus driver" quarterbacks...

And then comes the typical Romo nonsense, 2014 Romo was not a bus driver, as 20 of his 38 TDs were more than 15 yards. 11 were the vertical/fade/go over the shoulder routes, 8 on a slant drag or drive.

That’s the exact opposite of a bus driver. Thats a real QB that can throw when opposing defenses have up worry about the run.
