2 short years ago in 2020, the defense allowed a franchise worst 473 points and gave up the second most yards with 6,183.
This team has 85% "homegrown talent". Most in the league. The development of these draft picks is a direct correlation with why we are 2-1 without our starting QB.

D line: The Cowboys pressured Daniel Jones 35 times. Seven NFL teams have 39 or fewer pressures for the entire season. We also league the league in sacks with 13. The ability to have elite pressure comes from the depth able to keep the pass rush fresh. The commitment over the past few years to shore up the D line is paying off. We are deep

Safety Play: We have 4 safetys I would be completely comfortable starting. Mukuamu would be the best safety on this team 2 years ago and he doesn't see the field.

This defense is here to stay too. Parsons(23) Diggs(24) Gallimore(25) Osa(24) Armstrong(25) Wilson(27) Sam(23) Gholston(24) Joseph(22). Not one of these guys have reached their peak yet

Dan Quinn and company are doing something I've never seen, granted 'm a young fan (22) and the only thing I remember growing up on defense is Demarcus ware ;) but I am excited for the direction of this D
Go Cowboys!!

Quinn has done a great job coaching the defense.

And the front office has been successful drafting defensive talent.

Both are paying dividends.

I love good line play.

Lets be honest here. The Cowboys simply nailed the picks of Parsons and Diggs. Two superstars that have transformed our defense. The other defensive draft picks have been hit or miss. Quinn is making a difference.

This team needs to go all in and bring in Jalen Carter. I dont care if that means trading picks. Getting an absolute beast for the center of that DL would turn this defense into an elite unit. Like top 3 unit.

Imagine adding Aaron Donald to this current defense. I am not saying Carter will be Aaron Donald either just that someone even close to Donald on this defense will transform it. And make Parsons that much better.

Funny, I was thinking about this after our MNF game. Who, and obviously would they, bring in a player to bring this defense over the top?

Cowboys FO haven't shown in recent years they're willing to do this, but it could really be that "shot in the arm" this team could use.

They wont. However. They could draft one. Instead of drafting 13 players a draft. Package some of those picks together and move up and grab one of the higher rated defensive prospects. Jalen Carter is there next season and he is IMO someone that could turn this defense from very good/great to ELITE.

I like the guy, but I’m so glad Marinelli is gone. His insistence on playing and drafting “his guys” instead of talented football players hurt this team.

We were bad at drafting defensive plays during JG years. We've been pretty good so far under MM. Let's hope it continues.
