They will get destroyed by better running teams. Other than Parsons our Linebackers are the worst in the NFL. If we are 500 I would be surprised. We are only as strong as our weakest link and LVE is a disaster and cannot play the run.

No there not the worst in the NFL. Anthony Barr is a very good LB. We also use 3 safeties most of the time rather than 3 linebackers.

The 1994 team had 47 sacks. The 1992 team had 44. We'll see where this one ends up. But pressure isn't everything. The 2008 defense had 59 sacks (third-most in team history) and wasn't as good as those 1990s team, although I'm sure someone thought it was.

I'm pleased with how our defense is playing, but I'm not close to ready to consider it better than defenses that finished at the top of the league. The 1993 defense was fifth in points allowed at 15.2 per game, first in total yards allowed, first in first downs allowed. It was top five in eight categories.
You obviously weren’t around to see the 90’s defense. This defense brings much more pressure than they did on their best days. Don’t get me wrong, the 90’s defense was great. But they only had Charles Haley. The 90’s Super Bowls were won with the likes of Troy, Emmitt, Irvin, Johnson, Novachek, Larry Allen, Big Nate, Erik Williams, Tuinei and others.

Defense needs to separate itself from Eagles, Bucs and Bills to cement position at #1.

I haven’t seen a Cowboys defense play this well since Doomsday. They’re playing even better than the 90’s defense so far. It’s only been 3 games so the jury is still out, but if they keep this up this team is going a long way.

The 2022 Cowboys make the 1990s defences seem weak.
I feel dirty for saying tha...

I used to think the 1988 Bears Defence was something....

That front four was insane tonight. I wouldn’t be surprised if Daniel Jones wasn’t facing a direct pressure 70% of the time. It was a thing of beauty.

Dan Quinn is a defensive mastermind.

At one point towards the end of the game, Dallas had 21 pressures out of 31 pass plays. Then at the end they somewhat backed off. So that's like 69%

I think they started using Wilson to spy Jones in the second half and that really cut down on the scrambles

They'll need to do that when we play Philly. Hurts is a better runner than Jones.

There are people on this very forum who have no idea how good this defense is. They are too busy talking about every season before this one that they don't even get to enjoy what's on the TV in front of them this year.

I'm sure most of us know who these certain people are.

Correct.

This defense is the heart and soul and enough to get us into the playoffs. From there, anything is possible with a top defense.
