Sad news. RIP.
Seen an alert on this a little earlier. But was in the game thread. Figured a thread was started about it.

RIP, Gav.

Favorite play he made for us was actually a block. When he and Tyron hit that block in 2016 against Pittsburgh that opened that hole for Zeke to take it to the house for the game winner. Good times.

Tragic news. Deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. 31 is way too young to die. What's sad is this could have been prevented. Certain hobbies are not worth taking a risk.

Not taking anything away from this guy at all...I feel for his family...

But does anyone else's mind go directly to "affair" when it is reported that he was found dead with another female?

Again...not to take away from what happened at all...and "affairs" are common and I get why they happen regularly...but a man and a woman alone rock climbing seems like fertile grounds for an "affair". Totally jumping to conclusions...just curious if Im alone lol.

I just assume if youre going to rock climb...find a buddy, no?

One of the bodies found on a rock face in California’s San Bernardino National Forest has been identified as Gavin Escobar, the former Dallas Cowboys tight end.

Law enforcement officials responded to a Wednesday emergency call regarding a pair of rock climbers/hikers and on Thursday, the local coroner identified the two as Gavin Escobar, 31, and Chelsea Walsh, 33.

Both Escobar and Walsh are from Huntington Beach, California, where Escobar had recently become a member of the Long Beach Fire Department.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the off-duty death of Long Beach Firefighter Gavin Escobar,” the department said via social media.
