Will KM stick to this gameplan when Dak comes back?

Welcome to the forum. If that's the case, that's a huge problem and could explain the slow starts we usually see. It means that the players are likely confused because they are deviating significantly from the gameplan.

Yes, a very big problem. An alarming one at that. And, thanks for the warm welcome!

Nothing elite about, his mobility was an added dimension that is no longer a factor. His accuracy is inconsistent, poor pocket awareness (always flushing out of protection)and limited ability to read defensive. Overpaying for Dak is not going to turn him into Machines, the moment he's asked to carry the team there's always an excuse. His best moments came when Zeke was running wild and his offensive linemen were all pro bowl caliber. Dak may put up better stats than Rush but a lot of those numbers come in garbage time.

Dak is getting elite money, there's no justification for him the same play calling that Rush is getting.

This! Whenever there are games where a key player(s) are missing (tyron, Zeke, amari etc.) and it falls on Dak to carry the team the Cowboys always lose in epic fashion!

He needs to be reigned in for sure but Jerry might not allow it. His desire to showcase him as elite might overcome everything. Playaction and use Daks legs more will fix a lot.
Right, Jerry needs to justify his 40 million dollar man.

Kellen didn't even stick to his gameplan TODAY! Pollard only had 8 carries for six yards. Kellen chose to run right into the middle where Washington's strength is. There were more spread WR sets with Gallup back. So no, KM won't stick with it.

I’ve been seeing a lot posters here say the offense has been dumbed down and simplified for Rush. Now I see that KM needs to have the same offensive plan for Dak.

So are some of you finally admitting that Dak isn’t all that great?
I see this Excuse a lot and its bogus . . He has been here for years . . . Why would they need to "Dumb Down" the offense . . He knows tge play book like the back of His Hand

We’re have to open up the passing game a little if we’re going to score more points and be able to pull away. The last two games have come down to the last possession of the game. Hard to keep winning games scoring under 24 points every week.
With this defense . . Why Not

Ball control and setting up the pass through the run game? Dak is good, but he shouldn't be throwing the ball 40 times a game....50/50 pass and run along with a stout defense has won many games in this league. Protect your defense and keep them fresh....
I know Dak calls many pass plays from the line, he needs to be held back a bit from doing this. Hopefully, he's learning something from the sideline and hopefully KM and MM have the sack to hold him accountable.
The game plan is designed for playing with a sub par QB.

If this game plan works better for Dak then yes, let’s do it.

The defense isn’t going to hold up every week we need to start scoring more TDs. We can’t just keep depending on Brett Maher all season. Eventually he’ll start missing kicks.

great post, man. If Jerry allows the coaches to limit Dak’s ability to improvise and change plays on the fly, I think this team could be hard to beat. Surely the coaching staff sees how successful this formula can be, right???

Tampa has been the hardest team to run on the last 2-3 years, so game one was a pretty tough one to compare to.

Again you can't make that assumption . . . This Defense is legit and they will hold up. . . Would more TD's be welcomed? Of course . . . But we can and will win a lot of games scoring 20 points this year

You can’t make the assumption the defense is going to hold up every week and not have a bad game. Today we were getting gashed pretty good against the run in the first half. We’re going have a very difficult time beating good teams if we’re having to settle for too many FG’s. We can’t be depending on Brett Maher every week.

Oh your point was they may have 1 bad game . . . oh ok . . . History proves I can't argue against that . You win

I never made a point they could have one bad game. I said you can’t depend on the defense every week not to have a bad game.
