Yeah I'm pleasantly surprised, and I thought he was going to do well. but clearly he could drive a bus into the playoffs and beyond

He, modestly, gives the credit to the defense. They're playing very well, but he's doing his job.

Steve Beuerlein won his first six starts as a Cowboy QB, but had started in Los Angeles before coming to Dallas.

When Rush is done filling in at QB move him to the O line. The guy can do anything.

That’s a very misleading stat . But that’s how the media spins these things.
Of course Dak lost his first start but won 11 in a row. Lol
Staubach first season starting in 1971 begun 3-3 before running off 10 straight .

What's misleading, that he's won his 1st 4 starts? Reporting that is not misleading at all, it's a simple fact. If he had LOST his 1st 4 starts you wouldn't call THAT a misleading fact, everybody would be all over his case for being a loser!
Winning your 1st 4 starts doesn't qualify the guy as elite, but it does indicate that like Jake said, he's doing his job. If he wasn't doing his job, they wouldn't have won those 4 games.

You’ve missed my point. It’s only misleading to some of the narratives that can be spun from it.

I’m not disputing or downgrading the impressive performance and success we’ve had with Rush. Context is important.

LOL...what a cop out sheesh!
Basically I’m against over hyping .

I understand we’re excited we finally have a backup we can win some games with. But these type of stats can be over hyped and glorified especially by those wanting to spin a narrative .

I didn’t say that was the intent here. I was just saying.

I can't believe how far I've come in terms of believing in this player's ability.

To think he was dangling over the waiver wire, just a few weeks ago. And I personally didn't think he had anything to him based on his preseason play. But, man, I was wrong.

His success has made it so it's likely not possible we'll be able to dangle a backup over the waiver wire again for quite some time. I won't be surprised if someone scoops up Grier just to kick the tires on him. lol. I may have to buy a Cooper Rush jersey, though, to support him. And I've never been a jersey kind of guy.

I still like Dak, and it's a tough call for me. I truly appreciate both players in their own right. Mucho respect for Cooper Rush from me though.

100%.

Either way, to either extreme. Both players have been good statistically. One is undefeated. Over a short span.

They both need to be good to be the best team possible.

The last time we over hyped a backup QB who won 11 straight games we benched and released a better QB because we got wrapped up in the hoopla and hype . I’d hate to see us do the same thing again.
