Is Cooper Rush truly going to be a phenomenal player?

He has a chance to prove himself. Mention him in the same sentence as Brady is pure foolishness, IMHO. At this point I don't think neither Dak nor Rush are the future.
You need to reread that. No one mentioned him in the same sentence as Brady . But I agree, some people have said it . He is why I printed it

Let's hope he becomes All-world and we have two great QBs, and can get something for Dak, maybe a 1st. I see this Arch Manning in high school, how long will it be before he's ready? He has a rifle for an arm, and extremely accurate, and can move.

Joe Montana didn’t have a big arm . No I’m not comparing I’m just saying
But even if we are comparing their arms -- Joe Montana had a better arm than Cooper Rush. Brady isn't the greatest ever because of his arm strength, but look at those two INTs that were saved by penalty. Rush has zero margin for error on technique because he doesn't have the arm strength leading to both of those passes being short.

I will say that arm strength is over rated and QBs that are terrible in many areas get a chance because of cannon arms, but there is only so much Rush can do. Do we have the defense this year that a guy like Rush could win a super bowl -- we do. But given that Dak is sitting right there I would go back to him when he is ready.

Rush is a top tier back up winning with a stout defense. For the older fans I'd liken him to a Jeff Hostetler or Frank Riech, or more recently a Ryan Fitzpatrick. Good for wins in small stretches, but I would never count on them for a full season. I'm not a Dak backer, but it's still his team. Rush has done an admirable job, we'll see if Dak can finish up strong

It wouldn't be the first time injury made them aware that a backup was better.
It might be the longest time. Dak was a rookie when he took over. Brady was in his second season. Cooper rush joined the team a year after Dak. Tony Romo threw his first regular season pass in his 4th season. This is Cooper's 6th season.

Trevon Diggs ? You don't call him phenomenal ? Wow Tough Room
You probably should reread my post and what I was responding to. It was in response to another poster stating he was hesitant to call Micah phenomenal. I simply said it’s ok to feel he’s phenomenal. But if it makes ya feel better, yes Diggs is phenomenal. :)

There is nothing phenomenal about Cooper Rush so far in his career. 171 yards per game is exactly what I expect a back-up QB in a passing league to do.

Actually his yards per game average is 224 yards per full game played. You may have chosen to include his 7 passes at the end of the Bucs game as a FULL game.

I’m not saying that Rush is the long term answer at Qb here, but most of us know that Daks not.

224 yards is still bad lol

If Rush was just a few years younger making his first handful of starts..it wouldn't be a question, this would have been HIS team! I'm seeing great mastery of the game from him already, the understanding of the X's and O's. Now obviously the game will always get more difficult the longer you play as defenses will start scheming but we've already seen how Dak has responded to those gameplans (not good)

He can be a good bus driver.
Don't see any glaring weaknesses
Reads pre-snap and knows who should be open.
Overdue for a pick today as he will throw into tight coverage as he should, that bites everyone sooner or later.
the best QB on the roster by a lot.

Ah Drinking a Game day hi ball..... Carry on

If you listen to the Dak haters, Rush is the greatest thing to happen to this team since their last Super Bowl title since he will rescue this team from Prescott. The Tampa Bay game erased Prescott's entire career of 22,000 plus pass yards, 106 touchdowns, and 55 wins. Dak can no longer throw a football, he has no idea how to read a defense, teams have figured out how to beat him (it only took NFL defensive coordinators seven years to figure out not to blitz him), and the Cowboys are doomed once he gets his starting spot back.

Take a deep breath folks and listen to yourselves. I'm going to be attacked on here for saying so, but the Cowboys would still be 3-1 right now if Dak was never hurt. The only difference is they would be scoring more points. I am a big fan of what Cooper Rush has done to this point but he has only proven he is the best BACKUP quarterback in the league.

Now if Dak comes back rusty, I am all for putting Rush back in there until he gets his rhythm back. Rush's play also allows the Cowboys more time to let Dak heal if he needs it. Okay, now I'm going to duck and run out of this thread before the storm ;).

OK, three games. Means nothing right. I can just imagine halfway through the season. And he still doing the same good things. If not better. Because of experience on the field. imagine having the next Tom Brady, it’s all a dream. Because Prescott is back before it ever , Had a chance to happen. , or not

This couldn't have gone into one of the other Cooper Rush threads??? Respectfully
