Offensive spotlight: Dallas was supposed to be in trouble with Cooper Rush at quarterback, but he had another efficient day, completing 15 of 27 pass attempts for 223 yards, two scores and no interceptions. Rush averaged 8.5 yards per attempt and over 11 yards in average depth of target.

Defensive spotlight: Trevon Diggs had one of those games that showed how elite he can be. His interception was an excellent play, but he also had multiple additional pass breakups, providing very little joy for the offensive when targeted.

Offensive line spotlight: Tyler Smith had another fine game at left tackle for Dallas, allowing very little in the way of pressure. Jason Peters was rotating in at guard along with Connor McGovern, with Peters looking like the better player and allowing less pressure. The Cowboys' best offensive line combination going forward likely includes Peters.

McGovern has had his chance to show what he has got and it ain't much.

The O line did not run block very well; but at the same time the Wash D was keying on the run.

PFF is a joke but for once they actually got it right.

hopefully MvGovern will
get better more consistent
Better to go younger here, long season. like to see Peters as swing tackle. .
I disagree. You really are not developing McGovern since he is on the last year of his deal.

Anyone have any issues here?
TBH, I thought Tyler slipped a bit in this game. I saw him whiff completely at least once. But I'm not going to claim he did poorly on the whole. Our QB stayed upright pretty well.

Because Moore is an idiot, and not just that, he is a stubborn idiot.
I want to believe that isn't true, but when it comes to the running game... You've got road graders on the left side, and Pollard, who can hit the edge as well as anyone else. I don't know, maybe he's just saving that for when we need it to win.

I've got another OL spotlight: The run game sucked yesterday.

Great assessment.

Looks a lot better when Peters is at LG and Ferguson is in at TE blocking that’s for sure.

We were able to get some big runs on the left side and up the middle with both RB’s last time this was the case against the Giants.

Think this should be a must against the Rams and Philly.

If Peters needs to be spelled at times, that’s fine. But McGovern should be backup LG and RG right now. Peters starting LG and swing tackle.

Schultz too many penalties and is just a rag doll when blocking. He’s not even catching much so give some balance.

I think their film review is going to show that Tyler Smith had his welcome to the NFL day yesterday. There were several drives where he had no answer for Montez Sweat.

OL wasn't great but the interior DL is the strength of the Washington defense. Even Martin had an off day.

Why did they keep trying to force it up the gut when it isn't working?

Sometimes its about mixing it up, but Moore seems to lack a sense of momentum. He's calling runs into 9 man fronts just for sake of "mixing it up". That one series in the first half when he completed 3 straight throws to Lamb stands out. It appeared on that series that Washington could not cover Lamb. But, Moore bailed them out by switching to the run which is the strength of their defense.
